Lots of things happening in the parish as we begin the new year:
We are still waiting on permission from the diocese to begin drawing up plans for the Centennial Project. As a reminder, this project will turn the school cafeteria into a Parish Social Hall which will necessitate building a new cafeteria with additional classroom space above next to the gym out back. The former parish office next to the rectory is now being used as meeting spaces for the parish. We have six nice-sized meeting spaces available for use. The Saint Lucy House has served our needs well for the past 10 years or so. Because we now have the meeting space available for parish use, we are thinking of selling the house. I will give you more details later this Spring. Lent is fast approaching. Last year we inaugurated a collection on Ash Wednesday that will go to help our sister-parish in Haiti. Please be generous. After coming back from Haiti last week, I can assure you the needs are great. I just got our assessment for the Bishop’s Annual Lenten Appeal. Our assessment is $264,300. It went up from last year but that is mainly because we had such a good year financially. Look for more info in the mail and from the parish. We had 21 applicants for the Parish Manager Position. We are in the process of doing some phone interviews with some of the candidates and then plan on doing face-to-face interviews soon. More to come in the next few weeks. God bless. Father Al
