With Our Thanks and Gratitude, Mrs. Marcie Warner & Mr. Earl Tropp, Directors of Religious Education This past week I met with the Finance Council of the parish and they wanted me to let you know that we are having another banner year. At the end of March we had a sizable surplus and it looks like by the end of the fiscal year we will have a similar surplus as last year ($180,000).
We are moving ahead with the Lenten Appeal and more parishioners have given to Lenten Appeal than in the past. We still have a way to go but we did have a sizable increase from last year. That is because we are doing well financially and because our parish is doing well, the diocese asks more of us. (I have no problem with a little healthy competition between parishes and I have to say that the parishes around us have already met their goal! I know we can do it!) The amazing thing about our finances is that we have been doing a lot of things (new convent, new parish center, some renovations, etc.) and we are still in such a good place. I get the impression that there is misinformation out there that we are in financial difficulties and I can say without qualification that we are doing great! Keep up the good work and God bless you for your generosity! Father Al Thank you for your support of our Parish team’s trip to Father Beiting Appalachian Mission Center the week of April 22nd. There were five men from our parish on this trip. Our project for this trip was to replace about 35 feet of ramp (their front porch) and a 16 foot deck. Both had exceeded their useful life. We were also asked to provide a 20 foot ramp from the new deck to a driveway. The husband has had three surgeries on his back in the last couple of years and was told that the next step was a wheel chair. Their old ramp and deck were failing badly, and the deck was a foot higher than the existing ramp in front of the house, so it was not handicap accessible. The existing porch and deck had to be removed and replaced and a new ramp installed to the driveway. Thanks to the generous response of our Parish, we were able to cover the cost of most of the material that was needed for this job. Our thanks are also extended to the staff at Father Beiting Appalachian Mission Center. They prioritize requests for help and assign the work to be done for each family. The mission center also provides us with a place to stay while working on the homes of the poor in Eastern Kentucky. Again… Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and especially your prayers. - The Parish Team for this Spring Project A special THANK YOU to each of you who provided the funds necessary to cover the cost of this parish project. Without your help, prayers and encouragement we could not have completed this work. Again….. THANK YOU ![]()
