The Heart of the Parish envelopes that arrive with your regular offertory envelopes each month will have a new look come December! Be assured that contributions made in these envelopes will still be designated to the same Heart of the Parish fund as they have been before. We appreciate your continued support for this much needed cause!
The Heart of the Parish fund is a special fund to support the many repairs and maintenance needs of the parish's buildings and grounds. With such a large church property and many older buildings, there is currently great need for repairs and upgrades in many of the facilities for which the general operating budget simply does not allow. Our aging buildings require additional maintenance. This fund is also used to maintain the projects completed through the recent capital campaign. Your support of the Heart of the Parish is greatly appreciated! To read more about the Heart of the Parish and our other Church Funds, click here

There has recently been a slew of things online that have been taking over the internet and trending that you later wish you could un-see. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE THINGS! Christ calls us to love, and this commercial illustrates that beautifully. A committee will be forming to spearhead the decorating of the church for Christmas. Those who are interested are kindly asked to attend a meeting on Tuesday, December 2 at 6 PM in Meeting Room A/B. All are welcome. Thank you!
Our friends over at www.catholicsay.com explain why you should not applaud the choir following Mass:
Full Question: One of my friends suggests that we should not applaud the choir after the closing hymn. He says that the song should direct souls to the Lord. I find it unnatural if we don’t applaud. Answer: The church is not a concert hall and the liturgy is not a performance. We are there to direct our attention to God—not to each other. There is a time and place for everything. The church is for prayer—not performances. If you want to convey your appreciation for the music, compliment the director after Mass. You can check out the original post here: http://catholicsay.com/why-shouldnt-we-applaud-the-choir-at-the-end-of-mass/ Reminder: Due to the holiday schedule, bulletin articles for the November 30th bulletin are needed by Thursday, November 20th.
The St. Joan of Arc Youth Choir will begin practices on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 10 AM in the church and will rehearse every Saturday morning until Christmas. The choir is open to all young people of the parish in third grade through ninth grade. The Youth Choir will be singing the first Mass on Christmas Eve at 5 PM in the church. Please encourage your children to join this choir. There are no auditions. Questions? Contact Beth Palmer, Director of Music, in the church office.
We kindly ask that during the month of November, you remember to pray for all of those souls from the St. Joan of Arc community whom have passed before us, especially those who have passed within the last year. A list of these souls are available here
