From The Pastor: 03-31-2019

Just a few updates here in the parish:

• The Diocesan Annual Campaign has really gotten off to a good start. We have raised at this point more than we did at this time last year. We still have a good bit to go so I really encourage all of you to make a donation of some kind to help the diocese do the important work that only they can do. Thanks to all who have made a donation so far!
• Reminder about the Kick-Off to our Centennial Project on April 27. More info in the bulletin. Make sure you send in your RSVP so we know how many will be coming! Remember, this a FREE event and we really want as many people as possible…especially our young families with children!
• Hard to believe that April is here and Easter is right around the corner in three weeks. We will be gathering again in the cafeteria for the 12:00 pm Mass on Palm Sunday for the Procession with Palms. Also, on Holy Thursday we will not be processing with the Blessed Sacrament to the gym as we have in years past but will process to the Altar of Reposition which will be set up in the church. Adoration will continue afterwards and confessions will be heard afterwards in the church   itself. We are going back to what was done for years in the parish. I think it will make our Holy Week liturgies even more special.
• A special thank you to Janet McNeal who spoke to us about the sexual abuse of children in our Church and in our society. It was an informative but sober evening. Thanks as well to all who came out to the presentation. It is the first in our follow-up to our listening sessions on Clergy Sexual Abuse we held in the Fall. Check the bulletin for upcoming events.
• As we move from winter to spring (we are moving from winter to spring, right?), just a reminder that there are always a few weeks when it is hard to adjust the temperature in the church. Sometimes you need the heat and sometimes you need to turn the air conditioning on. Please be patient!
