We welcome to our parish Father Modestus Ngwu, OP, who will be sharing chaplaincy duties with Father Michael at the Hershey Medical Center. Father is a Dominican Friar coming from Nigeria and while his main ministry will be the hospital, he will also be helping with Masses here in the parish as all chaplains have done in the past. I know that you will welcome him with kindness and hospitality.
October is Respect Life Month. We pray that the sanctity of all life will be upheld from the moment of conception to the moment of natural death. We Catholics must be Pro-Life! The world is becoming ever more complicated and complex situations (unplanned pregnancies or end-of-life issues) cannot be addressed by simple answers (abortion or euthanasia). We must recognize that the choices we make are often irreparable. We must walk with and support those contemplating abortion and euthanasia so that they can always make the choice for life. We see death all around us in this broken world of ours. Do we really want to contribute and be responsible for more? A special thanks to all who made our Eucharistic Devotions a joy this year: Beth Palmer & her choir, Joe Gusherowski and his skills as MC, lectors, servers and extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, and all the people who came for adoration each day. God bless you! Father Al
