This week's message from Father Al...
November is the month in which we remember our beloved dead (and the forgotten dead as well!). On Friday, the Church commemorated All Souls Day and we celebrated a special Mass of Remembrance for all those who were buried from Saint Joan of Arc this past year. As the Book of Maccabees tells us, “It is a good and honorable thing to pray for those who have died.” It is right and good to grieve for our loved ones but may our mourning always be tinged with the hope of the Resurrection and of everlasting life. And may we never forget to pray for those who have died that we may assist them with our prayers. Be assured that when we pray for those who have died they in turn will pray for us when they enjoy the glory of heaven!
