Just a few thanks this week: Thanks to all who contributed to our first-annual Haiti Collection on Ash Wednesday. The response was fantastic! We collected more than $8000 and all the money hasn’t been counted yet. This will go so far in helping our sister-parish of Our Lady of Lourdes in Tarasse. The first thing we are doing is buying and installing a generator to provide much needed SAFE electricity to the parish and school. God bless you all for your generosity. And thanks to the Haiti Committee for all you have done already! Thank you for all the kind notes and emails from many of you after I wrote about some anonymous correspondence I received. I really wasn’t try to say “poor me” but simply explaining that it is impossible to respond to anonymous letters but I am really appreciative of all your kind words and support! A special thank you for all the prayers offered for Sister Eileen’s recovery to good health. Sister is really growing stronger with each passing day and I know she will be back in the school full-time. Prayers are an amazing thing and I know Sister is grateful. And while I am at it—I am going to sneak this in—a big thank you for what I know will be a really successful Bishop’s Annual Lenten Appeal this year. I know we haven’t even started yet but I know how generous you have been in the past and I know we will surpass our goal this year! The work the bishop and the diocese does is important. This is our way of saying “Thank You!” Finally, thank you God for the many gifts in our lives, our families and in our parish! God will never be outdone in His generosity. It is just a matter of recognizing how good God truly is! Please note: Due a publishing error in this week's bulletin, Father's article did not appear in full as it appears here.
