In collaboration with the parish staff and others, I have made a decision regarding the naming of the new rooms to be used for parish activities and organizations beginning in September:
The former convent community room in the convent: The Monsignor Mayan Room (named after our longest serving pastor).
The former convent dining room: The Rossello Room (named after Saint Mary Joseph Rossello, the foundress of The Daughters of Our Lady of Mercy, whose congregation has served our parish almost since its founding).
The pastor’s office, parochial vicar’s office and workroom in the present Parish Office will be named after the saints closely connected with Saint Joan of Arc: The Saint Margaret Room; The Saint Catherine Room; and The Saint Michael the Archangel Room.
The present secretary’s space in the parish office is still to be named. Any suggestions? Let me know.
In naming these rooms we honor our Patronal Saint as well as the men and women who served our parish here in Hershey for years! May their memory be blessed!
