Mary Elizabeth "Beth/Mary Beth" Sheehan, 82, of Palmyra, formerly of Hershey, St. Louis, MO and Pittsburgh, peacefully passed away on May 24, 2024 at Kadima at Campbelltown.
She was born May 6, 1942 in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Regis and Helen (O'Leary) Sheehan. Beth's education includes St Paul's Cathedral Grade School and High School, BSc degree-Mount Mercy College, postgraduate-St Louis University. She had worked as a registered dietician at Missouri Pacific Hospital, St Louis Home Nursing Agency, and BJC Hospital In-Home Services. Beth was a devout Roman Catholic who served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector for many years. She also was an active member of the St Joan of Arc's Respect Life Group and very much devoted to the Pro-life cause. She was an avid sports fan and supporter of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penguins. Mary is survived by her siblings, Vicki Nash, Joe (Maribeth) Sheehan, Midge (Ron) DiFrango and Colleen (Bill) Schnieders; sisters-in-law, Betty (Bob) Sheehan and Maureen (Tom) Sheehan, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and dear friend, Fran Shiffler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Bob, Tom and Billy Sheehan and Barbara Wingerson; brother-in-law, Bud Wingerson and longtime, close friend Teddie Schmidt. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 31, at 11AM in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 W. Areba Ave. Hershey. The family will begin receiving guests at 10:30AM. The family is requesting that you wear something blue, Beth's favorite color, in remembrance of her. Interment will be in the Hershey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to Respect Life Group, c/o St Joan of Arc Church, 359 W Areba Ave., Hershey, PA 17033. Hoover Funeral Home of Hershey is handling the arrangements.
