Listening Sessions with Bishop Gainer
1-15-2019: The next listening session with Bishop Gainer will be held on Wednesday, January 16 at St. Joseph Parish in Hanover at 7:00 pm. Anyone with questions regarding the Grand Jury Report, the Diocese's response to abuse, or our path forward is encouraged to attend.
1-10-2019: The I Thirst Prayer Group presents UNBOUND: Freedom in Christ, a two-part series of spiritual prayer to discover the basis of sin and to eradicate it from your life! Join us Wednesday evening on January 16 & 23 at 7:00 pm in the cafeteria.
1-10-2019: On January 13, we will hold a special second collection for Aid to the Catholic Church in Central and Eastern Europe, Latin America, and Africa.

Bishop Gainer to Host Listening Sessions
12-20-2018: Bishop Ronald Gainer will host listening sessions throughout the Diocese of Harrisburg in January and February of 2019. He encourages anyone with questions regarding the Grand Jury Report, the Diocese's response to abuse, our path forward, or any other questions or concerns to attend one of these sessions.

Parish Office Holiday Schedule
12-20-2018: In observance of the holidays, the parish office will be closed Sunday, December 23 at Noon through Wednesday, December 26 as well as Monday, December 31 through Tuesday, January 1. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
12-12-2018: Captain Janet McNeal, a retired Pennsylvania State Policewoman, will oversee the Youth Protection Program at the Diocese of Harrisburg. Captain McNeal has 26 years of law enforcement investigative and policy development experience, including serving as the Chief Administrator for the Megan’s Law Sexual Offender Registry for the entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
12-12-2018: There are no REP classes of Life Teen the week of December 23 and 30. These programs will resume on January 6, 2019.

Oplatki Wafers Available
12-4-2018: Oplatki wafers are available on the tables at the back of the church and at the parish office. Three wafers come in a pack. The cost is $3 for 1 pack or $5 for 2 packs.

Matthew 25 Collection - November 17 & 18
11-13-2018: The Matthew 25 collection will be taken on November 17 & 18. This collection supports parish ministries and organizations within the 15 counties in the Diocese of Harrisburg, which assists those in need of food, clothing, and shelter. Twenty-five percent of this collection remains in our parish to help our ministries complete their work.
Special Collection on Thanksgiving Day
11-13-2018: On Thanksgiving Day, November 22, the collection taken will be donated to the Hershey Food Bank. The mission of the Food Bank is to stop hunger in our community.
Modified Office Hours
11-13-2018: Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the Parish Office will run on a modified schedule next week.
On Wednesday, November 21, the Parish Office will close at Noon. The office will remain closed from Thursday, November 22 through Monday, November 26. We will re-open on Tuesday, November 27 and resume normal business hours.

Consolation/Bereavement Ministry Presentation

A Message From The Bishop's Office - October 22, 2018
10-26-2018: This past week, we confirmed that the Diocese of Harrisburg received a subpoena from the United States Justice Department for records related to clergy sexual abuse of minors. We are fully cooperating with this investigation, just as we did with the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General's investigation. Read more
Staffing Changes - October 2018
10-26-2018: Jackie Abel, our Director of Communications and IT, will be leaving our parish staff on October 29th. We thank Jackie for all the good she has brought to the parish and wish her all the best in her future endeavors. Ayana Elmore, our IT person at the school, will be jumping in with the bulletin and website in the future. Please be patient as we make this transition.

New Summer Mass Schedule
9-27-2018: We are excited to announce our new summer Mass schedule that will be effective from May 26 through September 1, 2019. Sunday morning Masses will be celebrated at: 7:30 am, 9:30 am, and 11:30 am. The Saturday Vigil Mass (5:15 pm) and Sunday evening Life Teen Mass (5:30 pm) will remain unchanged.
Scheduling 2019 Mass Intentions
9-27-2018: Mass Intentions for 2019 may be scheduled beginning Wednesday, October 17th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in the Parish Center. You may schedule up to four Masses for the year.
19th Century Oil Paintings In The Church
9-13-2018: Father Al has placed an oil painting at each of the shrines located on either side of the main altar. These 19th century oil paintings are two of the three pieces of artwork he acquired at no cost from a Seminary in Philadelphia. Learn more about them here.
Pilgrim Cross Renamed "Vocations Cross"
7-17-2018: Beginning on Monday, July 23, the SJA Pilgrim Cross will fall under the Vocations Ministry and be renamed "Vocations Cross”. Although this program has been in our parish for almost 20 years, you may not be familiar with it. The Vocations Ministry invites families and individuals to visit the website or call the parish office to sign up to take the Vocations Cross and prayer book home for 1 week to pray for vocations. The schedule for the Vocations Cross will continue to be posted on our website and in the bulletin. Read more here

Centennial Project Update from Father Al
4-20-2018: From Father Al - We submitted our plans and drawings to the diocese this past week to gain permission to move ahead with our Centennial Project. The Diocesan Building Committee will meet on May 1st to review the plans and the College of Consultors (one of the bishop’s advisory councils, of which I am a member) will meet on May 17th. We should have our answers about when and how to proceed from there. The plans look good and I will be presenting them in the near future to the parish.
Notice of Change: Monthly Blood Pressure Screenings
4-13-2018: Beginning in May the Nurse Ministry will no longer be offering blood pressure screenings following the Saturday evening Vigil Mass. Blood pressure screenings are held in the Library on the first Sunday of the month (unless it is a holiday weekend and then it will be the second Sunday) after these Masses: 7:30 am, 9:00 am, and 10:30 am.
Inclement Weather Protocol
2-8-2018: In the event of inclement weather, the parish will follow the schedule of St. Joan of Arc School for all delays and closings.If the school is closed, the Parish office and all facilities will also be closed with all scheduled events/meetings being cancelled.

Volunteers Needed for Transportation:
