Doris Blouch, 84, of Hummelstown, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016. She was born on July 11, 1931. Doris was a parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.

Mary Ann Dowd (1921 - 2016)

Mary Ann Dowd of Hershey, PA, left her earthly life and went to meet her Creator on February 20, 2016. Her husband John H. "Jack" Dowd preceded her in death in April 2004.

She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, leaving behind her son, Dr. Brian J. Dowd and his wife Nora, in Atlanta GA, along with her grandson Trevor who is in New Orleans, LA. She also leaves behind her daughter Loisann and her husband Paul White and two granddaughters, Caitlin White in Baden, Ontario and Colleen White in New York City. Also surviving are cousins Michael Prisloe of Connecticut and Lois O'Connor of Hawaii.

She was born and raised in Connecticut and had graduated from the University of Connecticut where she was president of the Women's Student Government Association and the editor of the college newspaper, The Connecticut Campus, in her junior year. In addition, she was editor in her senior year of The National Newman Club News. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi women's fraternity. She was one of the first graduate students to obtain her graduate degree from Penn State, which was then known as Capital Campus in Harrisburg, PA.

Mrs. Dowd was an active member of her church, St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Hershey, where she taught Bible Study and was an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist for over 20 years. She was a member of the Hershey Country Club; a member of the Harvard Club of New York City; the Derry Township Historical Society; the Mohler Senior Citizens Center; and the Hershey Horticultural Society.

As a member of the Hershey Horticultural Society Mary served a term as president and took top honors several times in flower arranging at their annual flower show. She was an avid reader, an artist, and a writer. She also did volunteer work with the Newton - Wellesley Hospital in Massachusetts and in the early stages of the Hershey Medical Center. She was also instrumental in the Friends of the Hershey library.

When her husband accepted a position at what was then known as Hershey Chocolate, it was to aid the company in starting to advertise. It was an opportunity that led to his appointment as the very first Vice President in charge of New Products. He was the enabler behind Hershey's venture to advertise Reese's Pieces in the film production "E.T." he was also president of Hershey Rotary and was the first president of the friends of the new Hershey Library.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 11AM in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 W. Areba Ave., Hershey. There will be no visitation or viewing.

Interment will take place at the family plot in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield Connecticut.

The family respectfully request memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to the Heart of the Parish Fund, c/o St. Joan of Arc, 350 W. Areba Ave., Hershey, PA 17033.

Mary "Betty" Hugendubler (1932 - 2016)

Mary E. "Betty" Hugendubler, 83, formerly of Hershey passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Countryside Christian Community, Annville.

Born April 13, 1932 in Newark, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Anna (Maguire) Green and was also preceded in death by brother Bill Green and grandchildren Katie and Tyler Winfindale.

A member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Hershey she was a former waitress at East End Restaurant, Hummelstown, Lucy's Cafe, Hershey and Hallman's Restaurant, Palmyra. She enjoyed gardening and cooking.

Surviving are her husband Jack M. Hugendubler; children Mike Hugendubler of Hershey, Mary Ann, wife of Pete Biffel of King George, Virginia, Bill Hugendubler of Harrisburg, Kathy, wife of Dave Thomas of Carmel, Indiana, John husband of Lynne Hugendubler of Pasadena, Maryland, Theresa, wife of Rick Winfindale of Harrisburg, Dave, husband of Linda Hugendubler of Hummelstown, Dan, husband of Holli Hugendubler of Hershey and Lisa, wife of Josh Russek of Palmyra; 27 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and four nieces and one nephew who were very dear to her.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, February 12, 2016 at her church, St. Joan of Arc Church, 359 West Areba Avenue, Hershey. Visitation will be held 6:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday at Buse Funeral Home, 9066 Jonestown Road, Grantville. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Harrisburg.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Countryside Christian Community, 200 Bellann Court, Annville, PA 17003.

Rose Marie East (1930 - 2016)

Rose Marie Louise Cassesi East was received into the Heavenly Kingdom on the First Saturday of the month, February 6, 2016. She died as a Faithful Servant to Our Precious Savior, Jesus Christ; His Blessed Mother, Mary and her parish St. Joan of Arc. She was a Devotee to the Brown Scapular Society; Faithful Daily Communicate; made the First Fridays & First Saturdays of each month; St. Padre Pio Society; Eucharistic Adorer on First Fridays at SJA; Seraphic Mass Association (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania); Altar Linen Committee; Rosary Group; Divine Mercy Group and CCW at SJA. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella at St. Anne’s Parish in Lodi, California.

She is preceded in death by her devoted, loving husband James S. East, an infant son, Gregory East, her parents John and Thomasina Cassesi and her siblings: Nicholas Cassesi, Frances Klinefelter and Jerald Cassesi. Rose Marie has a surviving sister, Gigi Finch in Ione, California.

Jim and Rose Marie’s surviving children are: Eugene A. East (wife Carol); Cecelia A East Reagle (husband David) and Julia East.

Rose Marie was a truly loving Italian Nana that held her 12 Grandchildren close to her heart and prayed for them constantly. She also was blessed with 10 Great-Grandchildren whom she adored.

Mom taught us to remain faithful to our Roman Catholic Faith and there was nothing more important than the Eucharist, Mass and prayer.

Rosary and Divine Mercy will be recited at St. Joan of Arc on Thursday, February 11th at 10:30 AM; Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions for the training of Nigerian priests. Make check payable to Dominican, Province of Nigeria; mail to: Dominican, Province of Nigeria, 4504 21st St., Mt. Rainier, MD 20712.

Theresa Virginia Sakalosky, 97, of Hershey, passed away on January 28, 2016 in her home.

She was born April 2, 1918 in Mcadoo, PA, daughter of the late Charles and Rose (Voccola) Friendly. Theresa was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Hershey and the Mohler Sr. Center in Hershey.

Theresa is survived by; son, Edward G. (wife, Cheryl) Sakalosky, Jr. of Harrisburg; daughters, Nancy (husband, William) Malcom of Coos Bay, OR; and Theresa Segreti of Baltimore, MD; 4 grandchildren: Christopher (wife, Amy) Sakalosky of Clarendon Hills, IL; Tina Malcom (husband, Joseph Shah) of Portland, OR; Adria Malcom of Coos Bay, OR; Alexandra Segreti of Brooklyn, NY; 2 great grandchildren: Grace & Emma Sakalosky of Clarendon Hills, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward G. Sakalosky, Sr.; and 3 sisters, Carmelia Hess, Eleanor Yanoshik, and Cecelia Bott.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 12:00 noon in the St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. The family will begin receiving guests in the church at 10:30 AM. Private interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Harrisburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to either: Vision Resources of Central Pennsylvania, 1130 South 19th St, Harrisburg, PA 17104 or St.. Joan of Arc, 359 W. Areba Ave., Hershey, PA 17033.
Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., of Hershey is handling the arrangements.
