Sistilio "Sam" Castelli, 94, of Bradenton, Florida, formerly of Hershey, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2016 in the Blake Medical Center in Brandenton, FL. He was born January 14, 1922 in Hershey, a son of the late Ascenzio and Vivina (Vieli) Castelli.
Sam was a 1939 graduate of Hershey High School and served with the 83rd Infantry Army Division during WWII. He was a retired Budget Officer with over 36 years of service at the New Cumberland Army Depot; a member of the St. Joan of Arc Church in Hershey and St Bernards Parish in Florida; also a member of the Hershey Italian Lodge; Hershey Post #3502 VFW; and the Kirby Stewart American Legion Post #24 in Brandenton, FL. He enjoyed playing golf; going to "Dunkers" at Mt. Vernon in Bradenton; and spending time with his family and many, many friends. Surviving are a son, Mark G. Castelli and wife Lisette of Grantville; 3 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 nieces; 2 nephews; and many, many friends. He was predeceased by wives, Esther (McCord) Castelli and Ruby J. (McGuinn) Castelli, brothers, Frank E. and Romeo J. Castelli, and a sister, Olega Castelli. A visitation will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 9:30 until 10:30 am in the Hoover Funeral Home in Hershey followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 am in the St Joan of Arc Church, 359 W. Areba Avenue in Hershey. Interment will be in the Hershey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Andrew J. Gaydos, Sr. 83, of Hershey, formerly of the Freeland area, passed away on January 13, 2016 in his home. He was born July 6, 1932 in Eckley, PA, son of the late Andrew and Mary (Falatko) Gaydos.
Andrew was a graduate of Penn State University; a Korean War Army veteran; and former employee of the Olmsted Air Force Base and the New Cumberland Army Depot. He was a member of the St. Joan of Arc Church in Hershey and the Hershey Italian Lodge. Andrew is survived by; his wife, Helen T. (Gmiter) Gaydos of Hershey; three sons, Mark (Barbara) Gaydos of Port Deposit, MD, Andrew J. Gaydos, Jr. of Albany, GA, and David (Helene) Gaydos of Annville; four grandchildren Devon, George, Joseph, and Frank; brother, Joseph Gaydos of Drums, PA; and sister, Barbara Alhum of Allentown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Albert Gaydos. A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 19, 2016, 9:30 am - 10:30 am, in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, of Hershey. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, at 11:00 am in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. Interment will be in the Hershey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to St. Joan of Arc Heart of the Parish Fund, 359 W. Areba Avenue, Hershey, PA 17033 or Hospice of Central PA. 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Ann Helen (Carr) Cudlipp, 87, of Hershey, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. She was born Friday, July 20, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Michael and Maria (Pfeiffer) Carr. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Wellington E. Cudlipp in 2011.
Ann retired from Hofstra University where she was the secretary to the Dean of the Library. She faithfully attended Church of the Holy Spirit in Palmyra and St. Joan of Arc in Hershey. Ann resided at Country Meadows and appreciated the "family" she had there. She was an avid bowler and loved a good garage sale, but most importantly Ann loved and cherished her family. She is survived by 4 children, Susan A. Craig and husband John, Michael J. Cudlipp and wife Frances, Edward A. Cudlipp, II and wife Roseann, and Jane M. Bisco and husband David; 10 grandchildren, Erin Thomas and husband Joel, Matt Craig and wife Jenny, Katie Craig, Zoe and Donovan Bisco, Gabrielle Cudlipp, Kerryann, Emily, and Mariah Cudlipp, and Kayle Neubert; 4 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Wesley, and Rachael Craig; and 2 siblings, William Carr and Mary Lazarz. She was predeceased by a brother, Frank Carr. Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 16, 2016 at 10 AM at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078. Family and friends are invited for viewing from 9 AM until time of the service. Burial will be at 11:30 AM in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Santa's Bowling Bash, c/o Northwest Savings Bank 1048 E. Main St., Palmyra 17078. Falcone Quigley, 87, of the Church of God Home, Carlisle and formerly of Hummelstown, died Saturday January 9, 2016 in the Home.
She was a retired Registered Nurse at Harrisburg Hospital and the PA Department of Health and a graduate of Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, Hershey. Eleanor was the daughter of the late Carmen and Anna Acri Falcone and the widow of Joseph P. Quigley. She is survived by two sons, Joseph R. Quigley and wife, Barbara A. of Manassas, VA and Paul F. Quigley and wife, Judy M. of Harrisburg; two daughters, Anita M. Peters and husband, Lawrence E. of Mechanicsburg and Marialice Dunn and husband, Paul A. II of Escondida, CA; 6 grandchildren, Michael D. Sanders and wife, Leanne, Jessica M. Root, Lisa D. Clapper and husband, Jason, Jennifer M. Sullivan and husband, Kevin, Brett S. Quigley, and Sean P. Quigley; two great grandchildren, Wesley J. Sullivan and Sawyer Mae Clapper; two sisters, Luigina Dunne of El Paso, TX and Mary Lappano of Warner Robins, GA. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 11:00 am in St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, Hershey with Rev. Alfred P. Sceski, her Pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 9:00 am until 10:30 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S. Second St., Steelton. He was born January 17, 1929 in Coxesville, PA, son of the late George and Mary (Yackshaw) Novatnak. George owned & operated his own dry cleaning business in Hazleton, where he was also known as "Corky the Cleaner". Mr. Novatnak was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Hershey, and the Hershey Italian Lodge Billiards Club. He enjoyed golfing bowling & coaching Little League Baseball. George is survived by; his wife, June (Salko) Novatnak of Hershey; a son, Dr. David G. (wife, Patricia) Novatnak of Cressona; a daughter, Donna F. Nooney, of Hummelstown; grandchildren, Shane Nooney, Aleksander Novatnak (wife Lindsay), Katrina Greenawalt (husband Ryan). He was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Novatnak, Adrienne Hydock, and a brother Paul James Novatnak. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 10:30AM, in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey, PA 17033. Graveside services will follow in the Calvary Cemetery Chapel in Drums, PA, at 1:30 PM.
