John T. Atella, 78, of Hershey, passed away on October 11, 2018 at the Hershey Medical Center. He was a Senior Emeritus Professor of Business Administration at Harrisburg Area Community College.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Joanne (Fratti) Atella; daughters, Christine, wife of Richard Stein, and Susan, wife of the late Jeffrey Hahn; grandchildren, Jonathan, Lauren, Andrew, Allison and Lexie. He is also survived by his brother, Steve Atella and family, his sister Gail Thornburg and family, and Uncle Joseph Puleio. John was a devoted family man who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and friends. One of his greatest joys was attending his grandchildren’s events. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 17th, 2018 at 11AM in his church, St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. Interment will be in the Hershey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to the HACC Foundation, 1 HACC Dr., Harrisburg, PA 17110 or the Heart of the Parish Fund, c/o St. Joan of Arc Church 359 W. James Patrick O'Connell, 89, of Hershey, passed away on October 8, 2018 in the Gardens at Palmyra.
He was born September 8, 1929 in Mahanoy Plane, son of the late James and Helen (Whalen) O'Connell. James retired from serving at the Hotel Hershey with 40+ proud years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of St Joan of Arc Church in Hershey. James was an avid sports fan in support of his Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. James is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as a sister-in-law. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Edward and Joseph O'Connell; sister, Helen O'Connell and nephews, Edward and Frank O'Connell. Recitation of the rosary will begin at 6PM on Monday October 15, followed by a visitation until 8PM in the Hoover Funeral Home, 88 Lucy Ave, Hershey. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 16 at 10:30 AM in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Hershey. Interment with military honors will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to St. Joan of Arc Church, 359 W. Resanovich, 91, of Hershey, passed away on October 6, 2018 in the Masonic Healthcare Center of Elizabethtown.
She was born October 13, 1926 in Hershey, daughter of the late Mauro and Adelina (Cocco) D'Eramo. Rose was a graduate of Hershey High School; a retired production worker from the Shipping department of Hershey Foods; was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and their Council of Catholic Women; the Areba Club; and The Rosary Group. She enjoyed reading and travel and was an excellent cook. Rose is survived by; daughters, Natalie Brandt of Elizabethtown and Marie (Michael) Bowman of Hershey; grandchildren, Angelina Coomer and Troy Coomer; great-granddaughter, Brianna Cooley; sister, Gilda Villa of Hershey; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Nicholas Resanovich; and sisters, Erma Bender Wall and Florence Tomaino. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018, from 9:30 - 10:30 AM in the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory of Hershey. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey; followed by interment in the Hershey Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staffs of Country Meadows of Hershey, Masonic Health Care Center and Masonic Hospice of Elizabethtown for their compassionate care given to Rose. Bob was a World War II Navy Veteran, retired employee of Hershey Foods and member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Hershey. He is survived by sons, Kevin R. of NJ and Timothy J. of Hummelstown; daughters, Susan A. Dubbs of Palmyra and Donna M. McGuigan of Harrisburg and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Angela. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 11:00 am in his church at 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 9:30 ‑10:30am at the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Hershey. Interment with honors will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
