In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to offset final expenses, c/o Hoover Funeral Home, P.O. Box 475, Hershey, PA 17033. Send condolences via the online guest book at www.hooverfuneralhome.com Source: http://obits.pennlive.com/obituaries/pennlive/obituary-print.aspx?n=mildred-a-ortenzi&pid=183623098 On July 10, 1944, Dennis "Ozzie" Moore was welcomed into this world by parents Francis and Eleanor (Dimmerling) Moore and siblings George, Liz, Eleanor, Frances, John and Joe.
He helped his family run Moore's Hotel in Pottsville, PA. Dennis served his country as a medic in peacetime Germany and completed his diploma through Pottsville High School. Dennis hit the marital jackpot when he wed Loretta (Hozella) Moore. They welcomed three boys to their family in Schuylkill County; and when Dennis found work with the Postal Service in Harrisburg the family moved to Middletown where Dennis - aka "Ozzie" - coached youth sports and volunteered with Seven Sorrows Church, American Legion Post 594 and the Middletown Raider Club. Ozzie savored his 48 years with Loretta and only regretted that they could not have 48 more. He was proud of his three sons, Dennis (Jennifer) of Palmyra and John and Tom (Sienna) of Minneapolis. And it could never be overstated how his grandchildren, Emily, Ethan and Francis, were his greatest joy. Ozzie's wake will be held at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home, 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra on Monday Jan. 9th from 6 to 8 pm. On Tuesday, January 10th a funeral mass will be held at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 Areba Avenue, Hershey, at 12:30, preceded by visitation in the church at 11:30. Internment at Fort Indiantown Gap will follow at 2pm. Ozzie is survived and preceded, like all of us, by too few and too many, respectively. In honor of his lively, boredom-mocking spirit this meager document of his grand life omits such an inventory. On a misty, chilly January 3rd, 2017, Ozzie was welcomed into eternal Love after a long and courageous struggle with diabetes-related illness. The afternoon before he died he told his sons, while fighting for each breath, "Be happy, be proud... and [forget] everything else". He lived a full life of laughter and love, and he wished as much for everyone. He is dearly missed.
