Albert Billings, 81, of Hershey, PA passed away on March 10, 2014 at the Lebanon VA Medical Center, PA of Lymphoma. He was born in Glen Lyon, PA. and was a Sergeant for the United States Marine Corps. He was retired from Brockway Glass Co., Freehold, NJ and Hershey Park, Hershey, PA. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 0386, Hershey.
Albert was predeceased by his wife, Dolores, in 1987, and a brother, Nicholas. Surviving are his daughter, Debra and her husband Daniel S. Barry of Elizabethtown, PA, a grandson, Daniel J. and his wife Elizabeth (Rothdeutsch) of Bethlehem, PA a granddaughter, Tara of Elizabethtown, PA, a brother, Charles of Milford, PA, two sisters, Margaret and Teresa of Arizona, and many nieces and nephews. Robert "Bob" Richard Dobroski, 86, of Campbelltown, passed away with family by his side on Wednesday, March 12th at Twin Oaks Nursing Home, Campbelltown. He was born Thursday, December 8, 1927 in Pittsburgh, PA to Robert S. and Julia (Burda) Dobroski. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Ann (McKean) Dobroski.
Robert was truly an educator, spending 20 years teaching Latin in North Allegheny School District, Pittsburgh. Followed by 15 years in the Department of Education as a consultant of the classic languages, finally retiring as an Owner/ Operator of a Sylvan Learning Center in Mechanicsburg and Camp Hill. He was a member of the PA Classical Association, the Derry Township AARP, and both St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Hershey and The Church of the Holy Spirit in Palmyra. Robert proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Most importantly he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by 4 sons, Richard of Pittsburgh, Lawrence "Larry" of Harrisburg, Mark of Womelsdorf, and Donald of Bridgeville; 5 daughters, Susan Dobroski of Rochester, NY, Barbara Hauck and husband Mark of Hummelstown, Mary Jane Herr and husband Robert of Hummelstown, Nancy Hart and husband Richard of Mechanicsburg, and Patricia Repetto of Groveville, NJ; eleven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, 2 siblings, Donald Dobroski of Fairport, NY and Marie Larson of Marana, AZ; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Eugene Dobroski. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 17th at Noon at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 W. Areba Ave., Hershey, PA 17033 with Rev. Michael W. Rothan as Celebrant. Burial with full military honors will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Family and friends are invited for viewing on Monday March 17th from 10-11 AM at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078. She was born in Hershey on June 17, 1949, daughter of the late Eugene and Dolores (Paioletti) Sajeski. Terry attended St. Joan of Arc Catholic School and was a Hershey High School graduate; she worked at AMP and Tyco Electronics in Middletown for 41 years; she was a member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church; she spent much time volunteering at the Hope Lodge in Hershey and also with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in Harrisburg. Terry is survived by her husband of 33 years Richard C. Mann Jr. of Hershey; son, W. Garrett Mann, and his wife Christina and grandson W. Colin of Palmyra; daughter Kelly Mann and her boyfriend Chad Dale of Hershey; brother Eugene A. Sajeski, his wife Nancy and nieces Heather and Emily of Hummelstown; sister Sandra Metzler and her husband James and nephew Christopher of Elizabethtown. A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from 9:30 - 11:30 am, in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., of Hershey. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 12:00 noon in the St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. A private interment will be in the Hershey Cemetery at a later date. At Terry's specific request, no flowers please. She was born on 14 August 1918 in California, PA to Andrew and Julia Gmitrow Miklasevich. She was the last surviving child of her parents. She graduated from Christ Hospital School of Nursing, Jersey City, NJ in 1947. She entered the United States Army on 2 May 1949 in Brooklyn, NY and retired on 20 November 1971. During her active military service, she was proud to have served several tours of duty as an Operating Room Nurse throughout the United States as well as in Germany, Japan, and Korea. As a devout Roman Catholic, she was an active member of Saint Joan of Arc Church in Hershey for 43 years. She was a member of The National Catholic Nurses Association, CCW of Saint Joan of Arc, The Keystone Chapter of the Retired Officers Association, AARP Hershey Area Chapter #3466, The American Legion Post 0386, and the Hershey Museum of American Life. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Hershey on Tuesday, 11 March 2014 at 11:30AM by the Reverend Louis P. Ogden and concelebrated by the Reverend Michael Rothan, her Pastor. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Hershey at 10:00am Tuesday morning followed by a time of visitation until 11:00am. A private burial with full military honors will be held in Washington, DC at Arlington National Cemetery. At Sophia's request, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Avenue, Hershey, PA 17033. |
