oseph M. Venezia, 73, of Hummelstown, passed away on February 2, 2024 in the Hershey Medical Center.
He was born May 18, 1950 in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Carmine and Theresa (Bierster) Venezia. Joseph was a graduate of Millersville University and had worked as an IT Specialist for Hershey Foods Corporation for 40 years until retiring. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Joe spread smiles and joy every day to those he knew and loved or even those he just met. His love will be missed greatly by those who he shared it with. Joseph is survived by his wife, Gloria (Moyer) Venezia of Hummelstown; sons, Joey (Amanda) Venezia of Dagsboro, DE and Christopher Venezia of Duncansville, PA; granddaughters, Payton and Paisley; sister, Kathryn Venezia of Brooklyn, NY; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles across many states. Recitation of the Rosary will take place on Thursday, February 8th at 5PM in the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, 88 Lucy Ave, Hershey, followed by a visitation concluding at 7PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 9th at 11AM in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey; followed by interment in the Hershey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to: Little Sisters of the Poor, 601 Maiden Choice Lane, Baltimore, MD 21228.

Joanne (McNamara) Bowman, 81, of Hershey, passed away at home on January 31, 2024, surrounded by her family. Joanne was born in Wiconisco on April 14, 1942 and grew up in Williamstown, where she met the love of her life, Tom. This past November they celebrated 60 wonderful years of marriage.
Joanne is survived by her husband Tom Bowman; sons Tom Jr. (Kathleen) and David (Julie); four grandchildren, Kyle, Sean (Kaitlyn), Nick, and Brianna; and siblings Fran Pazur, Dennis (Mary Lynn) McNamara, and Vincent (Kathleen) McNamara as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Vincent T. McNamara and Frances I. McNamara. Joanne loved her family more than anything and the time spent with them was always prized above all else. Anyone lucky enough to know her as family or friend knows what a wonderful person Joanne was and how she could make conversation with anyone. She had a great sense of humor and could light up a room with her personality, smile and hearty laugh. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church and enjoyed reading, traveling with family and friends, and country music. When it came to sports, football was her favorite….whether it was as a young woman watching Tom play at Western Maryland College or fiercely cheering on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. She treasured her Irish heritage, and her favorite trips were the ones she and Tom took to Ireland. A visitation will be held on Monday, February 5th, from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. in the Hoover Funeral Home, 88 Lucy Ave, Hershey; followed by Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:30 A.M. in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. Private interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to Penn State Health University Development Office; P.O. Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033-0852; memo line: Joanne Bowman/Cancer Infusion Center. Anne Marie Jallon, 78, of Hummelstown, passed away on January 13, 2024 at home surrounded by her family. Taken too soon, as she had such a zest for life. Anne-Marie spent her life building and nurturing a close-knit family that extends far and wide across generations of extended family. Anne-Marie was so talented, artistic in every way and a phenomenal cook. She was at her best and happiest when surrounded by family and friends. She also loved to travel and, in her lifetime, had the opportunity to go to so many gorgeous places. She was so warm, charismatic, and enchanting to all who had the privilege of meeting her and getting to know her.
She was born May 5, 1945 in St. Claude, France, daughter of the late Basile and Denise Tacchini. While in France, Anne Marie was a registered nurse. She was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and the Mortel Foundation and the Ronald McDonald House and was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Anne-Marie is survived by her husband, Philippe Jallon; daughters, Annabel Ries and Valerie Crouse; brother Bruno Tacchini in France; grandchildren, Julien Tacchini, Mariam Gogola and Emma and Luc Ries; and great grandchild, Olivier Gogola. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 20th at 1PM in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 W. Areba Ave. in Hershey. The family will begin receiving guests at noon. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to High Hopes for Haiti, the Ronald McDonald House, or plant a tree in honor of her. Maryann (Shimkonis) Malasavage, 92, of Hershey passed away on January 8, 2024 in Country Meadows of Hershey. She was born on March 2, 1931 in Frackville, Pennsylvania and graduated from Mahanoy City High School, Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil, son-in-law David Scherbarth, her mother, sister and brother.
She retired as a phlebotomist from Hershey Medical Center and worked atthe former Cocoa Inn of Hershey. After retirement she volunteered and worked at the St. Joan of Arc School Cafeteria. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church and The Council of Catholic Women. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, water aerobics, gardening and was an avid reader. She is survived by her son Mark, wife Carol, daughter Susan Zug, husband Peter, and daughter Marie Malasavage Scherbarth, husband David(deceased). Grandchildren, Adam Malasavage of Wilmington, Delaware,Matthew Scherbarth, Pittsburgh, Sarah Zug, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Benjamin Zug, Washington, DC and Andrew Scherbarth, Pittsburgh. She is also survived by two sisters, a brother, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 10:30 am with Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 10:30am on Monday, January 15, 2024 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Hershey. Burial will be in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joan of Arc School, 1525 Sandhill Road, Hummelstown PA 17036. The family would like to thank the staff at Country Meadows Hershey for their loving care these past months. Dominic J. Nestico, 96, of Palmyra, passed away on January 3, 2024 at Traditions of Hershey. He was born November 20, 1927 in Kulpmont, son of the late Joseph and Edith (Bridy) Nestico.
