Thomas L. Strawbridge, 65, of Middletown, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015, in the M. S. Hershey Medical Center.
Born in Lebanon, on November 14, 1949, he was the son of the late Lester E. and Marilyn E. Roof Strawbridge. Tom had worked as a certified auto mechanic for Landis Auto Repair, Hershey; was a counter person at Fisher Auto Parts, Hummelstown; and was known as the "Coffee Man" when he worked part-time at Turkey Hill in Hershey. He was a faithful and devout member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, Hershey. Tom's passion was dirt track racing at Williams Grove Speedway and the former Silver Spring Speedway. An animal lover, Tom was especially fond of cats. He is survived by two brothers, Lester R. Strawbridge of Philadelphia, and Dennis J. Strawbridge husband of Martha L. of Leola; two sisters, Linda F. McCaughy wife of Harry D. of Hummelstown, and Cheryl A. Varner wife of Jason D. of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews. A Prayer Service and time to celebrate Tom's life will be held Monday, October 26, 2015, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home Monday from 10 AM until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, PA 17036 to help the family with Tom's funeral expenses. Kathryn Marie Spang, 94, of Hershey passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2015 in the M.S.Hershey Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was born February 15, 1921 in Morann, PA, a daughter of the late John and Anna (Domen) Mura. Mrs. Spang was a member of the St. Joan of Arc Church in Hershey and the Council of Catholic Women.She was a retired employee of the former Memmi's Bakery and a former employee of Hotel Hershey and the former Hershey Dept. Store. The main focus of her life was God and her family. Surviving are daughters, Kathleen (Neil) Gruber of Ephrata, and Mary Marisa of Campbelltown; a son, John Spang of Hershey; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry I. Spang, and brothers, John and Eric Mura. There will be no viewing or visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 26, 2015 at 11:00 am in her church at 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. Interment will be in the Hershey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to the Heart of the Parish Fund, c/o St. Joan of Arc Church, 359 W. Areba Avenue, Hershey, PA 17033. Born in Wormleysburg, Bill was the son of William E and Edna (Miller) Myers. He is survived by his devoted wife of 69 years Barbara. He is also survived by his daughters Candace Coward of Independence, MO, Heidi (husband Paul) Kilmer of Harrisburg, PA. Grandsons Lt. Cmdr (Ret.) Sean (wife America) Wilson of San Antonio, TX, Timothy Noonan of Alexandria, VA, Kevin Kilmer of Harrisburg, and great grandsons William and Henry Wilson of San Antonio, TX.
Bill was a WW2 Army veteran, and a lifetime member of the IATSE Local 98 and Hershey Legion Post. Bill retired as Stage Manager from the Hershey Theatre after 30 years. He was a member of St Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church as well as Star of the Seas Knights of Columbus in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Bill's greatest passion, after his family was travel and music. He also spent many hours with his model railroads. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions can be made to the Arthritis Foundation , 3544 N. Mary Cappelli Hrabovsky of Hershey was reunited with family and many friends on September 30, 2015, having peacefully entered into the arms of our Lord at the age of 92. The daughter of Italian immigrants, she was born in Hershey, Pennsylvania to Cudio and Elodia Cappelli, and was a lifelong member of St. Joan of Arc Parish. Mary enjoyed a long career as a registered nurse, having worked at Hershey Hospital, The Hershey Medical Center, Hersheypark and The Palmyra Nursing Home from which she retired as Director of Nursing at the age of 73. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; sister Claire (Clea) Cappelli Beam and brother Calvin Coolidge Cappelli. Nothing made Mary happier than the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as her beloved nieces and nephews and their families. She leaves to celebrate her legacy of love, children Marlane Shearer and her husband John, Jan Huzvar and her husband Jeff, Margaret Slyman her husband James, and John J. Hrabovsky II and his wife Sharilee. Mary was blessed with nine grand children and six great grand children whom she loved with all her heart: Daniel Shearer, and wife Tracey, Dian Farling and husband Chris, and Mari Shearer and partner Kevin Grein and their respective children: Donovan and Talia Shearer; Drew, Evan and Kaden Farling; Kate and Quinn Shearer-Grein; Chelsea Huzvar; Jamie Slyman and son, Jason Slyman; Megan Russell and husband James; Johnny III, Adam and Emma Hrabovsky. A funeral mass will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church on October 12 at 10:30 a.m. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, the family requests only prayers. Hudak-Dubinsky, 48, of Gulfport, Florida, formerly of Hershey, went home to be with Our Lord Jesus Christ on September 27, 2015 in the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.
She was born October 14, 1966, in Trenton, NJ, daughter of Georganne (Sharp) Hughes and the late John P. Hudak. Deb had been Manager of Facilities at One Blood Corp. in Orlando, FL and previously at Ceridian Corp in St. Petersburg, FL. Deborah is survived by her mother, Georganne (Ron) Hughes; son, John (Paulina) Dubinsky, and grandsons, Mason James & Hunter; as well as her brother, John Hudak and her dear friend, Donny Bishop. She was a devoted mother; the best daughter and sister; and truly a blessing to all who knew her. A devoted Catholic, Deb attended mass daily whenever possible. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 11:00 am in the St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. He was born August 3, 1928 in Shamokin, son of the late Edward and Francena (Richardson) Murphy. David graduated from Coal Township High School and was a retired employee of 40 years for Hershey Food's in the peanut & almond division. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army and a Korean War veteran. Memberships include: St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Hershey; Chocolate Workers Local 464; and the Hershey American Legion. David is survived by; daughters, Susan (& husband, Jeffrey) Reuscher of Camp Hill, and Jane "Jenny" (& husband, Robert) Shifflet of Hummelstown; and also four grandchildren, Laura & Emily Shifflet and Kyle & Megan Reuscher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Donnelly) Murphy. Visitations will be held Thursday, October 1, 2015, from 6 - 8 pm, (with recitation of the rosary at 7:45pm); and also on Friday, from 9:30 - 10:30 AM, in the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., Route 422 & Lucy Avenue, in Hershey. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 2, 2015, at 11 am in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. Interment will be in the Hershey Cemetery.
