James R. Kolaric, Sr., 71, of Hummelstown, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Hershey on November 26, 1944, he was the son of the late Frank M. Kolaric, Sr. and Catherine E. Behrens Kolaric. Jim retired from H. B. Reese Candy Company as a Kit Kat Supervisor. He was a 1962 graduate of Lower Dauphin High School, Hummelstown. Jim was a US Army veteran having served during the Vietnam era. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, Hershey. Jim loved fishing, wildlife, feeding the songbirds around his home, and watching NASCAR. His passion in life was farming, especially helping Brad Miller on the farm, and collecting replica farm toys. Jim is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Ethel M. Cobaugh Kolaric, whom he married on September 24, 1966, a son, James R. Kolaric, Jr. of Hummelstown; four brothers, Frank M. Kolaric, Jr., Albert J. Kolaric, Sr., Stanley A. Kolaric, and Ivan J. Kolaric husband of Wanda all of Hummelstown; two sisters, Judith M. wife of Paul R. Weaver and Diane R. wife of Gerald J. Dougherty both of Hummelstown; a sister-in-law, Geraldine N. Kolaric of Rutherford; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a brother, Paul E. Kolaric. Prayer services will be held Thursday, July 21, 2016, at 12:30 PM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. Interment with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Township. Friends are invited to a viewing in the funeral home on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, from 6 to 8 PM, and again on Thursday from 11:30 AM until time of the services. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be sent to the American Heart/Stroke Association , Capital Region, 1019 Mumma Road, Wormleysburg, PA 17043. Emil Malasavage, 89, of Hershey, passed away on July 13, 2016 in Cornwall Manor, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born and grew up in Shoemakers, Mahanoy City, PA. He was a graduate of the Mahanoy Township high school; Academy of Aeronautics, Long Island, NY; Rising Sun School of Aeronautics, Philadelphia; and the Army Non-commissioned school in Lido, Italy; and obtained his pilot's license from the Hazelton Aircraft School. He was a veteran of World War II and served in Italy with the 88th Infantry Division. As a young boy he worked in the family coal mine. He was employed by the former Olmsted Air Force Base, Middletown, PA and retired from the Defense Contract Administration as an Industrial Specialist. In 1980 he was the industrial specialist of the year by the defense contract administration. He was a member of Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Hershey; The Knights of Columbus, Middletown Council 3501; and American Legion Post 386, Hershey. He loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Emil also enjoyed woodworking, gardening, automobiles and airplanes. Emil is survived by his wife of 60 years, Maryann (Shimkonis) Malasavage of Hershey; son, Mark Malasavage & his wife Carol of Palmyra; daughters, Susan Zug & her husband Peter of Cornwall; and Marie Scherbarth & her husband David of Pittsburgh; 4 grandsons, Adam Malasavage, Matthew & Andrew Scherbarth, and Benjamin Zug; and granddaughter Sarah Zug. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Metro & Kathryn (Straka) Malasavage, two brothers and two sisters. A visitation will be held Sunday, July 17, 2016, 4 pm - 6 pm, in the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory of Hershey; and also on Monday from 9 am-10 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 10:30 am in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. Private interment will be in St. Mary's Byzantine Cemetery in Mahanoy City. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to Heart of the Parish Fund, c/o St. Joan of Arc, 359 W. Areba Ave. Hershey, PA 17033. "Bobby T" Trenn, 64, of Hershey, passed away on July 5, 2016, in his home after an extended illness. He was born June 23, 1952 in Hershey, a son of the late Charlie and Millie (Stranger) Trenn.
Bobby was the former Trainer for The Hershey Bears and Washington Capitals. He is the owner of Tworks, an on-course operations co. on the PGA Tour. Bobby was also the Rink Manager at Milton Hershey School. He loved Auto Racing. Sprint cars, NASCAR, and Indy Cars. His favorite was his annual trip to Indy 500. He was Notre Dames Biggest Fan. Bobby is survived by his brother, Charles "Chuck" R. Trenn, Jr. of Hummelstown; two sisters, Patricia A. (Theodore) Engle of New Buffalo and Mary Ellen (Jack) McGarrity of Harrisburg, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Monday, July 11th in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Avenue, Hershey. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Monday. Inurnment will be private at the Hershey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: PA Wounded Warriors, C/O Helen Sajer, 1117 Country Club Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011 or Four Diamonds Fund, C/O the M.S.
