Samuel J. DeAngelis, 97, of Hershey, passed away on May 29, 2019 in the Hershey Medical Center.
He was born September 28, 1921 in Hershey, a son of the late Domenico and Genoveffa (Quaglia) DeAngelis. He was also preceded in death by his wives, Edna and Alba as well as his eleven siblings. He is survived by his close nephew, James DeAngelis of Hershey as well as many other nieces and nephews. Sam was a World War II Navy Veteran, an owner of the former DeAngelis Restaurant in Hershey, member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, Hershey and the Areba Club. He had also belonged to the Hershey Lions Club and Hershey Rotary Club. Services will be held in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Hershey on Monday, June 3rd at 2:30pm. The family will begin receiving guests at 1:30pm. Private interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Harrisburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Dorothy M. Goldsmith, 98, of Hershey, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away on May 28, 2019 in Country Meadows of Hershey. She was born December 3, 1920 in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Eli and Dorothy (Cox) Massick and was the wife of the late Edwin B. Goldsmith. Dorothy graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School and devoted her life to raising her family.
Dorothy is survived by: son, James (and wife Sheila) Goldsmith; daughter, Margaret (and husband Robert Devlin Jr.); grandchildren, Matthew and Douglas Goldsmith and great grandchildren, Quincy, Camila and Gina Jolene Goldsmith. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughter Audrey Goldsmith. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 6 at 11AM in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. The family will begin receiving guests at 10:30AM. Private interment will take place in the Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Pittsburgh. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to CARE at www.care.org Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory of Hershey is handling the arrangements. Send condolences via the online guest book at www.hooverfuneralhome.comwww.pennlive.com/obits David Andrew Pegher, 47, of Hummelstown, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Hershey Medical Center. Born Tuesday, May 27, 1971 in Okinowa, Japan, he was the son of David J. and Rachael (Radakovic) Pegher of Pittsburgh. He was married 21 years to Kimberly M. (Lotts) Pegher.
David graduated from Central Catholic High School, earned a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University and his teaching certification from Chatham College. He had his M.Ed. from Wilkes University. David was a third grade teacher for 23 years. As an Artist in Residence at Transitional Infant Care in Pittsburgh, he published the National Journal of NursingAward-Winning book, Baby Hands & Baby Feet. David was an active volunteer with the Hummelstown Swim Team and the Lebanon Valley Otters Swim Teams, as well as at church and anywhere he could lend a hand. In addition to his wife, David is survived by two children, Mia and Jacob Pegher; two brothers: Christopher Pegher and wife Laura of Mt. Vernon, VA; Matthew Pegher and wife Sylvia Kolibal of Sparta, NJ and two sisters: Jennifer Tallant and husband David of Hagerstown, MD and Julie Tanouye and husband Shane of Pittsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 W. Areba Avenue, Hershey, PA 17033 at 10:00 AM. Viewing will be held Friday at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home, 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 from 4:30-7:30 PM. Interment will be in Hershey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in David’s memory may be made to the David A.
