Thomas R. Rae, 74, of Hershey passed away on Monday, November 9, 2015 in the Hershey Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 22, 1940 in Uniontown, PA, a son of the late John and Violet (Fudala) Rae.
Thomas was a graduate of the University of Maryland and a retired physical education teacher and football coach for several School Districts in Maryland and Pennsylvania. He was a member of the St. Joan of Arc Church in Hershey. Tom's greatest pleasure was spending time with his family and attending his children's and grandchildren's activities. Surviving are his wife, Mildred A. "Midge" Jones Rae; son, Jeffrey (Pamela) Rae of Elizabethtown; daughter, Lisa (Jeffrey) Shank of Elizabethtown; 4 grandchildren, Tyler and Madison Rae and Thomas and David Shank; a sister, Bernadette Anderson of Levittown, PA.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Rae. Visitation will be Thursday evening, November 12th, from 6:00 8:00pm and also Friday morning, November 13th, from 9:30 - 10:30am in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Hershey, PA. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday, November 13th in his church at 359 W. Areba Avenue in Hershey. Interment will follow at the Hershey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society , 2405 Park Drive #100, Harrisburg, PA 17011 or www.lls.org. Dorothy Ann (Kambic) Graybash, born on May 3rd, 1940 in Harrisburg, PA, passed into the arms of her heavenly Father on Sunday morning, November 8th, 2015. She spent her final days at the Lebanon VA Medical Center, surrounded by the care of her loving family.
As a young woman she served as a flight nurse in the United States Air Force. She loved to fly, and enjoyed travelling to new places. She met her husband while they were both in the service; the first time he saw her, he described her as a "beautiful angel of mercy". They were married in 1968, and celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary this past March. Dorothy received her B.S. from Millersville University, and completed her training as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital (class of '61). She was both a nurse and a nursing educator. She retired from her work as an operating room nurse at Hershey Medical Center in 1998. Dorothy was a faithful servant of God, and a devoted parishioner at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, where she served for many years as a Eucharistic Minister. A dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, she was happiest when she spent time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Peter J. Graybash, Jr.; her children, Peter (III) and Jennifer Graybash, Gregory and Aimee Graybash, Laura Clarke, and Karin Graybash and Mindy Richardson; her grandchildren Josh, Amber, Levi and Lucy; her siblings, Sr. Celeste Marie Kambic, I.H.M., Rosemary and Arturo Tecson, and Barbara Kambic; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father and mother, Joseph J. and Catherine E. Kambic, and her brothers Joseph S. Kambic and William Kambic. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. The family will receive guests from 9:30- 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 12, 2015 in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory of Hershey. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. "Pinkie" Quarry, 91, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Hospital. She was the wife of the late Lee H. Quarry, who passed away in 2011, and the late Elwood Moyer, who passed away in 1974.
Born on March 12, 1924, in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Edna Heilman Bender. Pinkie was a 1942 graduate of Annville High School. She was a buyer for Pomeroy's and Bon-Ton in Lebanon. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc in Hershey. Pinkie enjoyed volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House, Hershey Medical Center Chaplain's Office and St. Joan of Arc cafeteria. She enjoyed watching the Phillies, decorating her home and cooking. Surviving is a daughter-in-law, Donna, wife of Lester Warren of Robesonia. She was a beloved grandmother to her grandchildren, Jodi, wife of Bob Hoch, Lori, wife of Tim Weimer and David, husband of Robinn Moyer; great-grandchildren, Ben Weimer, R. Tanner Hoch, Troy Weimer, Erin Hoch, Skylar Moyer, Carrington Moyer and Ashton Moyer. She was preceded in death by a son, James E. Moyer; a brother, Russell Bender; and a sister, Hilda Smith. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 618 E. Main St., Annville. Entombment will be at the convenience of the family. A public viewing will be held with the family from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. She was born March 23, 1942 in Syracuse, NY, daughter of the late Francis and Ruth (Koppenhafer) Quinn. She graduated from St. Anthony of Padua High School in Syracuse, NY and the State University of New York at Oswego. She was a teacher for Syracuse City Schools before moving to Central, PA with her family. Mary Anne was a member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church in Hershey and participated in the Rosary Prayer group and often volunteered for church fundraisers. She spent many years serving on the Londonderry PTO and supporting other local community activities. She will be remembered as a strong, independent, and kind woman who often put others before her. She dedicated much of her life to education and learning. Mary Anne is survived by; son John Lesniak of Elizabethtown; daughter Kristin Poorman and husband Richard of Harrisburg; daughter Nicole Baker of Arlington, VA; brothers, Francis Quinn of Cary, NC and Thomas Quinn of Baldwinsville, NY. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Marmalade. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Lesniak; and a sister, Theresa Quinn. Recitation of the rosary will begin at 5:30PM on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, followed by a visitation from 6 - 8 pm, in the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., of Hershey. There will also be a visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 9:30 - 10:30 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 11:00 am in the St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. Interment will follow in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Rd.
