Date of Birth – January 17, 1931
Date of Death – April 9, 2019 Sister Mary Helen Scicchitano, a member of the Daughters of Our Lady of Mercy, Villa Rossello, Newfield, NJ, went to her eternal rest on April 9, at Misericordia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, York, PA where she had been a resident for several years. Sister Helen, born in Mt. Carmel, PA, was the daughter of the late Carmen and Catherine Scicchitano of Mt. Carmel, PA. She entered the Congregation of the Daughters of Our Lady of Mercy, in York, PA on January 7, 1949 and professed her Vows on August 16, 1950 at Villa Rossello, Newfield, NJ. Sister Helen earned a BS in Elementary Education from College Misericordia, Dallas, PA and an MA in Secondary Education from Seton Hall University, South Orange, NJ. She taught for many years in elementary schools administered by the religious order in Milford MA, Hazleton, Hershey, Steelton, Old Forge, PA, and served as principal at St. Peter’s, Elizabethtown, PA for a few years. She also taught in Brigantine and Vineland, NJ, and then at Our Lady of Mercy Academy, located at the order’s Provincialate, Newfield, NJ. In later years Sister Helen ministered as Academic Counselor at Harrisburg Area Community College. Dedicated to her religious vocation and to the ministry of education, Sister Helen touched the lives of countless numbers of children and youth at the elementary and high school level, and then in her ministry to college students. In addition to her parents, Sister Helen was preceded in death by her brothers, Carmen and Dr. David Scicchitano, and by her sisters Toni Gearhart and Marian Ehrlacker. She is survived by a loving multitude of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and also by her religious community, the Daughters of Our Lady of Mercy. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a viewing from 2:00 to 3:00 with a Memorial Service at 3:00 PM at Misericordia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center Chapel, York, PA on Friday afternoon. The Mass of Christian Burial will be take place at the order’s Provincial House, Villa Rossello, Newfield, NJ, on Saturday, April 13 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Pietà Cemetery on the grounds of Villa Rossello. Prior to the Mass a Visitation will take place in the Chapel from 10:00 until just before Mass at 11:00 AM. For those who wish, contributions in Sister Helen’s memory may be made to the Daughters of Mercy, Villa Rossello, 1009 Main Road, Newfield, NJ 08344. Lorraine D. Fetrow, 78, of Palmyra, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at home. Born Wednesday, February 19, 1941 in Ashland, PA, she was the daughter of the late Bryan and Anna Balutis. She was the loving wife of Lowell E. Fetrow, Jr. for 57 years.
Lorraine was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Hershey, and previously served as a Eucharistic Minister at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Palmyra. She retired from AMP, Inc. in Harrisburg where she worked as a lab technician. She also worked for the American Heart Association in Linglestown and the Central PA Blood Bank in Harrisburg. Lorraine was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed cooking. She loved animals, particularly dogs, and enjoyed reading her Bible. In addition to her husband Lowell, she is survived by two sons: Micheal B. Fetrow and wife Nikki of Milton, PA and David L. Fetrow of Harrisburg; five grandchildren: Chris (Colleen), Lauren, Zach, Jessica and Ben; as well as a great granddaughter due in April. Lorraine was predeceased by a twin brother Ronald Balutis and brother Joseph Balutis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 from St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Avenue, Hershey, PA 17033 at 11:00 AM. There will be no viewing. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM Until the time of service. Interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. On lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Lorraine’s memory to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church (make a contribution here) or to Grane Hospice, 1200 Camp Hill Bypass, Suite 205, Camp Hill, PA 17011. Theresa M. McLaughlin, 63, of Hershey, passed away on March 27, 2019.
She was born November 11, 1955 in Harrisburg, daughter of Helen (Halko) Koslosky and the late Dr. Francis Koslosky. In addition to her mother, she is survived by sister, Kathryn Koslosky and brother, Robert F. Koslosky. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her twin brother, Michael L. Koslosky. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 10:30 AM in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Hershey. Interment will follow in Hershey Cemetery. He was born January 21, 1949 in Harrisburg, son of the late Joseph and Sophia (Basulto) Caloiero. Joe recently retired from the Penn State Hershey Medical Center where he was a psychotherapist. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and the U.S. Army Reserves. He loved music and was a professional musician for 55 years, playing bass and singing vocals. Joe is survived by his wife, Vicki Ann (Pasquini) Caloiero of Hershey; son, Joseph (Katie) Caloiero of Franklin, TN; son, Vincent (Erica) Caloiero of Shelburne, VT; son, John-Paul Caloiero of Philadelphia; granddaughters, Lilia and Evie Caloiero of Shelburne, VT; brother, Richard (Cheryl) Caloiero of Hershey; aunt, Josephine Barnes of Harrisburg; nephews and nieces(Vincent & Nicholas Pasquini and Richard & Leigh Caloiero); and his beloved Maremma Sheepdog Tessa. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 11AM in St. Joan of Arc Church, 359 W. Areba Ave., Hershey. McRedmond, 77, of Hummelstown, PA, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed quietly on Saturday, March 16, 2019, in the care of Masonic Village Hospice after a short battle with cancer.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, on February 22, 1942, he was the son of the late James and Mary Cronin McRedmond. Bob retired as the previous co-owner of Handyman Matters, Hummelstown; was Past President of Advanced Supplies, Middletown; a manager for the Olivetti Corporation; and worked at the New York Stock Exchange. He was a 1960 graduate of Brooklyn Preparatory High School and attended Brooklyn College both of New York City. Bob was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church. Bob served as Judge of Elections in Derry Township; was former Vice President and Webmaster for the Hummelstown Business & Professional Association; and member of the Hershey Partnership and Harrisburg Regional Chamber of Commerce. He was Past President of the Advisory Board for the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Bob was also a volunteer at the Medical Center for 7 years with 2,800 hours of service. He was a member of the Harrisburg-Snyder Lodge #629, F&AM, where he held several Officer positions; and a member of Perserverance Lodge #21, F&AM, The Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Harrisburg, as well as several bodies in the York Rite. He loved to read, and especially to spend time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, RoseAnn DiFede McRedmond, whom he married on May 19, 1968; two sons, Joseph P. McRedmond husband of Allison of Oella, MD, and Michael T. McRedmond of Middletown; one daughter, Erin M. Woods wife of Bill of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Liam, Charlie, Ben and Lillian; one sister Helen Butler of Orem, UT; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Barrera, and two brothers, Frank McRedmond and James McRedmond. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 25, 2019, at 11:00 AM in St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Avenue, Hershey, with The Rev. Fr. Kenneth C. Roth as celebrant. Interment with military honors will be held in the Hershey Cemetery. Friends are invited to the viewings on Sunday, March 24, 2019, from 6 to 7:45 PM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc, 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, and in the church on Monday from 10 to 10:45 AM. Prayers will be recited Sunday in the funeral at 5:45 PM. The Masonic funeral service will also be held Sunday at 7:45 PM in the funeral home. (Sally) Kaiser, 89, of Hershey, PA, passed away on March 13, 2019 at Columbia Cottage, Palmyra, PA, where she received loving and compassionate care for two years. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerard D. Kaiser, M.D., with whom she shared 63 years of marriage, on November 26, 2018.
Sally was born in Philadelphia, PA, to the late William Loughrey and Anna (Hallinan) Loughrey. The daughter of Irish immigrants, she graduated from John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls H. S. in Philadelphia (’47) and earned a B.A. from Immaculata University (‘51). Following graduation, she taught elementary students in the School District of Philadelphia. After leaving education, she happily assumed the role of full-time homemaker, then served as receptionist and bookkeeper for her husband’s family medical practice operated from their home. Mrs. Kaiser was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Hershey. She was devoted to God, her Catholic faith and family. She held strong convictions, loved and hosted family gatherings, enjoyed travel and reading, was highly organized, and possessed an inventory of one-liners to persuade her children. Though avoiding the limelight for herself, she embraced the role of best supporting actress in categories of wife, mother, grandmother, pet-sitter and various other roles in which she was called to serve. Mrs. Kaiser is survived by her six children, Margaret Kaiser Collins, Reading, PA, Gerard D. Kaiser, Jr. (Mary Jane), St. Louis, MO, Gregory J. Kaiser (Cathleen), Hummelstown, PA, Francis M. Kaiser (Kathleen), Havertown, PA, James A. Kaiser (Cristina), Shaker Heights, OH, Ellen “Nellie” McGrew (Lawrence), Collingswood, NJ, two sisters, Nora Grogan, Media, PA, and Anne (Henry) Schneider, Ocean City, NJ. She was Grandmom or MomMom to fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren around the country. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Mary, a son-in-law, Edward M. Collins, III, two brothers, William Loughrey and John Loughrey, four sisters, Rita Gilson, Marguerite Stout, Sr. Mary Loughrey, I.H.M. and Julia Mangan, and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Angie Loughrey, Ruth Loughrey, Edward Gilson, William Grogan, Richard Stout, and Francis Mangan. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joan of Arc Church, 359 West Areba Avenue, Hershey, PA 17033 on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. Viewing will be Friday, March 15, 2019 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Hoover Funeral Home, 88 Lucy Avenue, Hershey, PA 17033, with recitation of the Rosary at 4:15 p.m. Private interment will be at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne, PA. She will be greatly missed. Vi had a vibrant personality and a quick wit to match. She loved books and was an avid reader. Vi had a wonderful talent for telling stories about the family history that would bring characters to life and keep you hanging on every word. She was a loving aunt who was much loved and is survived by her two nephews Mike Ficco and Calvin Wagner and her niece Erika Ellyett. Vi will be laid to rest beside her late husband Rad. A Prayer service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2019, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Fr. Kenneth C. Roth of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church as officiant. Interment will be in the Hershey Cemetery.
