Joanne Marie Spaziani Strohm, 85, of Palmyra, and formerly of Hershey, passed away on October 28, 2020. She was born March 12, 1935 in Derry Township, a daughter of the late Samuel and Esther (Deimler) Wiestling. Joanne was a 1954 graduate of the former Hummelstown High School. She took great pride in being a homemaker and being a foster mother to over 45 infants. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Palmyra and had been a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Hershey.
Joanne is survived by her daughters, Christine (Tony) Tatangelo of Hummelstown, Kathleen (Lynn) Leo of Palmyra, Teresa (Ted) Mortensen of Hershey and Patricia (Michael) Linton of Elizabethtown, 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Beverly Heisey and Frances Albert both of Palmyra; brother, Wallace "Mike" Wiestling of Middletown. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Nick J. Spaziani and Warren L. Strohm as well as her siblings, Robert and Nancy Wiestling. Due to current Covid 19 restrictions there will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 11:00 am in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Avenue, Hershey. Interment will follow in the Hershey Cemetery. Donald E. Hennigan, a resident of Hummelstown, PA died October 25th at the age of 84. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Saundra, children Karen (Ken Thompson), Kevin (Linda), Kim Collins (Jack Pyanowski), Karyl Claroni (David Kiscadden) and Kelly Campbell (Dan), and 11 grandchildren, Ryan, Daniel (Luighsighe) Kelsie, Gavin, Michael, Rachel, Maeve, Bryan, Grace, Margo and Nikki. Published in Patriot-News from Oct. 26 to Oct. 27, 2020. Dorothy “Dottie” S. (Resuta) Basti, 67, of Toms River, NJ passed away on October 6, 2020 after a short, courageous battle with cancer. Born in Hazleton, PA, Dottie was raised in Lebanon, PA where she graduated from Lebanon High School in 1971. She resided in Toms River, NJ for the last 20 years. Dottie worked for the Ocean County Health Department for many years and retired in 2019. She loved to garden, read, design miniatures, relax in the sand in Wildwood, and entertain us with her quick wit, among many treasured pastimes. She was a loyal friend and an integral part of our family. We will miss her forever.
Dorothy is predeceased by her father, Michael Resuta. She is survived by her mother Dorothy (Della Croce) Sparks and step-father Robert Sparks, her loving husband of 25 years, Martin Basti, children Morgan Silverman & husband Sean, Andrew Basti & wife Jessica, grandchildren Emily Silverman, Dakota, Olivia, and Tessa Basti, sister Debra Pagano, niece Gabrielle Pagano, her Aunt Ann Marie Della Croce, Aunt and Uncle Donna and Thomas Basti, her sisters-in-law Gabrielle Sutcliffe and Colette Basti, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and her adored pup Morris. All services will be held in Hershey, PA where Dorothy will be laid to rest. Viewing will be held on Sunday, October 11th from 4-6 p.m. at Hoover Funeral Home, 88 Lucy Avenue, Hershey. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 12th at 11:00am in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 W. Areba Avenue, Hershey. Interment will follow in the Hershey Cemetery. |
