Randall “Randy” B. Hansen, 77, of Hummelstown, and formerly of Princeton, IL, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at his home.
Born in Kewanee, IL, on February 12, 1941, he was the son of the late Boyd and Francis Cole Hansen. Randy retired from the Illinois State Police with 30 years of service. He attended Western Illinois University, Macomb, IL, and received an Associate’s Degree from the Illinois Valley Community College, Oglesby, IL. Randy was an U.S. Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War era. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, Hershey, and a former member of the St. Louis Catholic Church, Princeton, IL. Randy was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Illinois State Police Retirement Association. He found true enjoyment in being outdoors running and biking, and was an avid reader. Randy is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary C. Wessel Hansen, whom he married on April 19, 1969; two daughters, Michelle M. Hansen-Flaherty wife of Michael of Las Vegas, NV, and Kelly R. Hansen-Brandenburg of Hummelstown; five grandchildren, Molly M. Brandenburg, Cole R. Brandenburg, and Cooper T. Brandenburg all of Hummelstown, and Reagan M. Flaherty and Drew K. Flaherty both of Las Vegas; and one brother, Paul Hansen of Peoria, IL. A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Fr. Kenneth C. Roth as officiant. Visitation will be held Thursday from 10 AM until time of the service. Military honors will be presented following the service at the funeral home. The family has requested that memorial contributions be sent to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Margaret M. (Evans) Weeter, 68, of Hummelstown, formerly of Hershey, passed away on September 19, 2018 in Carolyn's House, Hospice of Central PA Residence.
She was born July 8, 1950 in Sharon, PA, daughter of the late Albert and Margaret (Johnston) Evans. Margaret had worked at the Hershey Medical Center for 35 years as a Respiratory Therapist. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Hershey. Margaret is survived by; husband, Thomas K. Weeter of Hummelstown; son, Thomas S. (Jen) Weeter; granddaughters, Kathryn and Madelyn Weeter; brothers, James, William, and John Evans; and sister, Cathy (Evans) Vermillion. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Michael Evans. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 11AM in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. The family will receive guests after the mass. She was a most loving mother to Linda Killi (Dan) of Parkland, FL, Barbara Radulski (Barry) of Dunwoody, Ga, Martin Lang (Ralph) of Huntington, NY, Susan Wiesley (Dave) of Salt Lake City, UT, Diane Christ (Scott) of Palmyra, PA, and Elizabeth Mark (Kurt) of Hummelstown, PA, and grandmother to Jennifer Marshall, Michael Killi, Sara Wynn, Kristen Herrin, Brett and Adam Wiesley, Alexandra and Faith Mark, and 11 great grandchildren.
Formerly of Palmyra, PA and Lindenhurst, NY, Marion grew up on her family dairy farm on Corbin Hill in upstate NY, and graduated with a teaching degree from Fredonia University. She moved to Long Island, NY and taught the elementary grades for years, but suspended her career to raise her children and help her husband Martin with his business. Marion will always be remembered for her quiet graceful way and kindness. She showed her love for her children by showering them with patience and understanding, by cooking and baking for them, and taking care of them with a gentle hand. She loved to sew and read, sing and listen to music, garden and travel, and spend time with her family. Marion was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church, sang in the choir there, and also in the Hershey Community Chorus. She also volunteered for many groups within the church and various other organizations. Recitation of the Rosary will be on Thursday, September 20th, at 5:00pm followed by visitation until 7:00 pm in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory in Hershey. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church on Friday, September 21st at 10:30 am. Interment will be in Hershey Cemetery. We will miss her dearly, but are comforted by her strong faith in God. Born August 12, 1955, in Keyser, WV, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Edward and Myra Luvena (Bever) Determan. She was preceded in death by her sister, Susan J. (Determan) Matlick. Ms. Gattens was a 1973 graduate of Bruce High School in Westernport, MD, and completed the Secretarial Science Program at Allegany Community College. She devoted her life to her children in her early years and then worked at the Hershey Medical Center in later life. Strong in faith, she was an active member at her parish at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Hershey. She was an active part of her children's lives, remembered for her laughter, love of her baking and crafts, and her faith in God. She is survived by Erin Hubbard and husband David, of Staunton, VA, Dave Gattens and wife Erin, of Elizabethtown, PA, and Brooke Zepp and husband Cory, of Willow Grove, PA, who rejoice in the life that she lived. She loved her six grandchildren Ryleigh, Sawyer, Leighton, Fynna, Zachary, and Holly, and was cherished by them dearly. Family meant everything to her, and she celebrated life often with her sisters and brother, Marie Whiteman and her husband Ed of Woodbridge, VA, Jayne Barnes and her husband David of Bel Air, MD, Joe Determan, Jr., and his wife Martha of East Stroudsburg, PA, Cindy Nelson and husband Bill of Westernport, MD, and Jeannie Guy and her husband Scott of Glen Allen, VA. Her ten nieces and nephews and eleven great-nieces and great-nephews will always remember her giving nature and caring smile. There will be a visitation in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, 88 Lucy Ave., Hershey on Friday, September 21, 2018 from 1 - 2 PM; followed by Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 W. He was born February 5, 1953 in Hershey, son of the late Nicholas and Yoly (DeRomualdo) Turato. He attended St. Joan of Arc School and graduated from Hershey High School and went on to be a scientific programmer for GE. Stephen is survived by; sisters, Denise Turato, Diane Turato-Linsenbach and Patricia Gustafson; and a niece. A private graveside interment will be held in the Hershey Cemetery. He was born March 4, 1960 in Hershey, son of the late Guiseppi and Mary (Vieli) D'Eramo. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and the Legion of Mary. Tony is survived by: brother, Domenic D'Eramo; 4 sisters, Rose D'Eramo, Louise Risser, Barbara Kuhl, and Cathy Hatfield; many nieces, nephews and an uncle. A visitation will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018, 9:30 am - 10:30 am, in the Hoover Funeral Home, 88 Lucy Ave. Hershey; followed by Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11AM in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey.
