It is with much sadness we announce that our Mother, Amalia A. Capobianco Marzullo, 84, of Hummelstown, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2015, in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center with her loving family by her side.
Born in Italy on September 14, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Cosimo and Gaetana Ziccardi Capobianco. Amalia, a woman of many talents was passionate about life and living it. She was extremely patriotic and appreciative of everything America offered to her as a first generation immigrant. Amalia was a devoted member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, Hershey. Most precious to Amalia was her family and friends; no one was ever a stranger to her. She was loving, caring, and thoughtful to everyone she met; and, her charismatic personality quite drew people to her. The children of her neighborhood knew her as Nonna, while the adults were her friends or as she often referred to them "like a son or daughter". Amalia was dedicated to her home, she liked to crochet and make blankets for many as special gifts. She had a true joy for cooking and baking homemade, and she would love to share her delicious goods with everyone. For many years, Amalia was an active member of the Areba Club where she loved to socialize with members at luncheons, travel to many places and attend spiritual journeys locally and abroad. She lived a unique and vibrant life, and will be truly missed by her family and all who knew her. Amalia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Giovanni "John" Marzullo; a sister, Tina Hardiman; and an infant brother, Giuseppe Capobianco. She is survived by her two daughters, Phyllis A. Lindquist wife of James F. of Hummelstown and Giovanna "Joanne" A. Marzullo-Manez wife of Raymond P. of Long Island, NY; her four grandchildren, Christopher John Lindquist husband of Nicole, Lisa M. Eisenhauer, Samantha J. Garrone wife of Brendan, and Emily R. Manez; her five siblings, Nicola Capobianco husband of Anna of Switzerland, Rosa Pala wife of Mario of Italy, Maria Spagnuolo of New Jersey, wife of the late Giuseppe, Antonio Capobianco husband of Oili of Finland, and Gastone Capobianco husband of Carmelina of New Jersey; and her four great grandchildren, Mia Joy Eisenhauer, Maxwell Eisenhauer, Alexa Lindquist, and Brayden Lindquist who all brought sunshine to her life. Amalia also has an Aunt, Zia Rosinella, in Italy; 16 nieces and nephews here abroad and many cousins that she has remained in touch with over the years. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 20, 2015, at 11 AM in St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Avenue, Hershey, with The Rev. Fr. Brian J. Wayne from St. Patrick's in Carlisle as celebrant. Friends will be received for the viewing Thursday, February 19, 2015, from 4 to 8 PM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery & Mausoleum, Colonia, NJ on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes to have memorial contributions made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 120 G Street NW, Suite 700, Washington D.C. 2005 and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
