Anthony Ferrar (1924 - 2018)

Anthony A. Ferrar, 93, of Hershey, died Monday June 11, 2018. He was born July 17, 1924 in Harrisburg, son of the late Minnie (Bria) and Albert Ferrar.

Anthony graduated from John Harris High School Class of 1942 and retired from the Penna Bureau of Aviation, at Harrisburg International Airport. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Hershey.  Mr. Ferrar was both a WWII and Korea War Veteran.  He served as an Army Air Corps pilot during WWII and as a US Air Force pilot and multi-engine pilot during the Korean War earning several awards; including two Air Medals.

He married his high school sweetheart, Vivian Swartz, and they were together for 65 years until her death in 2010….. And what a beautiful love story they had!

He is survived by his granddaughter Kelly Ferrar Palumbo and her 3 children, Jillian, Michael and Brooklyn; granddaughter, Cris Ferrar Messler and her children Peter, Sam and Ava.

He was preceded in death by his son Terry in 1999.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 18th, at 11AM in St. Joan of Arc Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. The family will begin receiving guests at 10:30AM in the church.

Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Harrisburg.
