Robert E. "Bob" Brubaker (1937 - 2017)

Bob Brubaker, 79, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 22, 2017. He was born March 23, 1937 in Chambers Hill, a son of the late James and Ruth (O'Neal) Brubaker. Bob was a 1955 graduate of Middletown High School. He sold insurance and real estate for several years and had also been employed by Westinghouse Nuclear. After retiring, he was a Deputy Sheriff for Lebanon County.

Bob was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Annville and also attended St Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church in Hershey. He was a Fourth Degree Knight with Father Michael F. Barrett Council #9875 Knights of Columbus and member of Prince Edwin Spring Creek Lodge #486 F&AM. Other memberships include; the NRA, Sheriff's Association of Lebanon County and Palmyra Sportsmens Association. He loved spending time with his family and was so proud of his grandchildren. Bob had a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed making others laugh, dancing and listening to the big band sound.

Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Doris (Riffle) Brubaker; two sons: James M. (Jennifer) Brubaker and their children, Catherine and Colleen, all of Dillsburg; Kevin M. (Karen) Brubaker and their son Edward "Teddy", all of Pittsburgh; sister, Carole (Bob) Shearer of Palmyra; sister in law, Lavina (Herb) Wilhelm of Pittsburgh and several nieces & nephews,.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 11:00am in the St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey PA 17033. Visitations will be held on Thursday, January 26th from 6:00pm - 8:00pm, and also on Friday, January 27th from 9:30am - 10:30am in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Route 422 & Lucy Avenue, Hershey. Entombment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Harrisburg immediately following the Mass.
