Thomas L. Strawbridge, 65, of Middletown, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015, in the M. S. Hershey Medical Center.
Born in Lebanon, on November 14, 1949, he was the son of the late Lester E. and Marilyn E. Roof Strawbridge. Tom had worked as a certified auto mechanic for Landis Auto Repair, Hershey; was a counter person at Fisher Auto Parts, Hummelstown; and was known as the "Coffee Man" when he worked part-time at Turkey Hill in Hershey. He was a faithful and devout member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, Hershey. Tom's passion was dirt track racing at Williams Grove Speedway and the former Silver Spring Speedway. An animal lover, Tom was especially fond of cats. He is survived by two brothers, Lester R. Strawbridge of Philadelphia, and Dennis J. Strawbridge husband of Martha L. of Leola; two sisters, Linda F. McCaughy wife of Harry D. of Hummelstown, and Cheryl A. Varner wife of Jason D. of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews. A Prayer Service and time to celebrate Tom's life will be held Monday, October 26, 2015, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home Monday from 10 AM until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, PA 17036 to help the family with Tom's funeral expenses.
