Dorothy Ann (Kambic) Graybash, born on May 3rd, 1940 in Harrisburg, PA, passed into the arms of her heavenly Father on Sunday morning, November 8th, 2015. She spent her final days at the Lebanon VA Medical Center, surrounded by the care of her loving family.
As a young woman she served as a flight nurse in the United States Air Force. She loved to fly, and enjoyed travelling to new places. She met her husband while they were both in the service; the first time he saw her, he described her as a "beautiful angel of mercy". They were married in 1968, and celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary this past March. Dorothy received her B.S. from Millersville University, and completed her training as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital (class of '61). She was both a nurse and a nursing educator. She retired from her work as an operating room nurse at Hershey Medical Center in 1998. Dorothy was a faithful servant of God, and a devoted parishioner at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, where she served for many years as a Eucharistic Minister. A dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, she was happiest when she spent time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Peter J. Graybash, Jr.; her children, Peter (III) and Jennifer Graybash, Gregory and Aimee Graybash, Laura Clarke, and Karin Graybash and Mindy Richardson; her grandchildren Josh, Amber, Levi and Lucy; her siblings, Sr. Celeste Marie Kambic, I.H.M., Rosemary and Arturo Tecson, and Barbara Kambic; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father and mother, Joseph J. and Catherine E. Kambic, and her brothers Joseph S. Kambic and William Kambic. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. The family will receive guests from 9:30- 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 12, 2015 in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory of Hershey. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joan of Arc, "Heart of the Parish Fund", 359 West Areba Avenue, Hershey, PA 17033.
