Frances Marie Simmons (1949-2021)

Frances Marie Simmons, 72, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021 at MUSC in Charleston, SC. Born February 27, 1949 in Hershey, PA, daughter of the late Frank and Isolina (Luciani) Leoni. She grew up in Hershey and attended Hershey High School, and retired from the National Recover Agency. After retirement, she moved to Myrtle Beach to enjoy the beach, the sun, and sand. She was a loving wife, best mother ever, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all. Survivors include her loving husband of 35 years, L. Whitley Simmons, Jr.; son, Richard F. Lear; daughters, Lynnette (Thomas) Buchan, Corissa (Michael) Alvarado, and Lana (Michael) Washburn; sisters, Angelina Yanikov and Bonita Kline; grandchildren, Nathan and Katelyn Buchan, Ricki Jo Lear, JoVony Roque, Eve Washburn, and Keegan Finnerty; as well as the nieces and nephews she adored. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 17, 2021 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 W. Areba Ave., Hershey, PA 17033. Following the service, the family invites you to a luncheon in her memory at the Hershey Italian Lodge, 128 Hillcrest Rd., Hershey, PA 17033
