Frank J. Mediate (1927-2020)

Frank J. Mediate, 92, of Harrisburg, Pa passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 15, 2020.
He was born in Wall, Pa. to Santo and Maria Elena Mediate. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda Anne Mediate, his children Mark Mediate of Boston, MA and Monica McCabe(Bernie)of Ambler, PA , his grandchildren Alexandra Mediate, Brandon Mediate, Stephen McCabe, Emma McCabe. He is also survived by his sister Catherine Divens, Annapolis, Md.
Frank was a kind, gentle and unconditionally loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He spent much of his life volunteering in the Church and for Contact Helpline. He loved music and sang with the Harrisburg Choral Society and in his church choir. He was an avid sports fan, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates, and loved playing golf.
After serving in the US Navy he attended and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BS Degree in Engineering. He retired as an Engineering Manager with AMP Inc. Following retirement Frank drove for the Hershey Trolley Works for 13 years and had the title Motorman Emeritus a job he absolutely loved. Lastly, he fulfilled his dream of having a farm. An experience filled with so many traditions and blessings.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan 22, 2020 from 10:00AM to 11:30AM at the Hoover Funeral Homes, & Crematory, Inc., 88 Lucy Ave, Hershey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 12 Noon at St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave, Hershey, Pa. Monsignor William Richardson will be the Celebrant. Inurnment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105 or to a charity of your choice.
