Irene A. Seesholtz, 92, of Hummelstown, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Johnstown on February 8, 1925, she was the daughter of the late George and Ann Bellak Mlinarchik. Irene retired as a receptionist for the Hershey Convention Center where she worked for over 15 years. She was a 1943 graduate of Westmont Upper Yoder High School. After graduation, Irene moved to Washington D.C. to work for the FBI as a fingerprint analyst, even meeting J. Edgar Hoover while she was there. Irene was a longtime member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, Hershey. The most important thing to Irene was family gatherings and being surrounded by her loved ones. She was thrilled when asked to babysit her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and also enjoyed cooking and baking. She was preceded in death by her husband, John G. Seesholtz; and seven siblings, John, Anne, Elizabeth, Catherine, Andrew, Mary Jane, and William. Irene is survived by three sons, John G. Seesholtz, Jr. (Loan Trinh), Tim W. Seesholtz (Linda Wikel), and David R. Seesholtz (Jenna); three daughters, Mary Ellen Seesholtz (Rebecca), Cindy A. Seesholtz, and Joan; a sister, Margaret L. “Peggy” Mills; six grandchildren, Brady Seesholtz, Laura Traina (Michael), David C. Seesholtz, Andy Good, Jennifer M. Seesholtz, and Jillian; and two great granddaughters, Brooke and Carly Traina. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at 11:30 AM in St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Avenue, Hershey. Friends will be received Wednesday for the visitation in the church from 11:00 AM until time of the service. An additional memorial service and inurnment will be held in Johnstown at a later date.
