Joseph A. Clark, 14, of Hummelstown, passed away on December 3, 2023 in the Milton S. Hershey Penn State Medical Center after a long battle with cancer. He was a warrior and fought with bravery and quiet strength.
He was born September 14, 2009 in Hershey. Joseph is survived by his parents, Andrew C. and Nicole E. (Fleming) Clark; brother, Matthew A. Clark, paternal grandmother, Marilyn Clark; maternal grandparents, Edwards and Eleanor Fleming; uncle, John M. Clark, III; aunt, Megan Clark and his cousin, Jacob Clark. Joseph was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Hershey and was thankful to attend St. Joan of Arc School with its nurturing and supportive environment. He was a member of the Hershey Soccer Club and loved playing soccer at the travel team level. Playing soccer with his team mates was one of the great joys of his life. A close second to his love for soccer was his love of basketball. He participated in the Diocese of Harrisburg CYO Basketball program and found great enjoyment in representing St. Joan of Arc with his schoolmates. As a whole he loved life and delighted in the simple pleasure of being with family and friends. He was always ready to play any type of game or sit and put together a jigsaw puzzle. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 11am in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Avenue, Hershey. A visitation will be held Friday, December 8, 2023, from 4-6pm in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, 88 Lucy Avenue, Hershey and also from 10am - 11am at the church on Saturday. Interment will be private at the Hershey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to St. Joan of Arc School 1525 Sand Hill Road, Hummelstown, PA 17036.
