James Christopher "Jim" Murphy, 65, of Harrisburg, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family and Sage. He was the husband of Donna S. (Landis) Murphy. Born May 10, 1951 in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Edith (Connell) Murphy.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by a son, David Murphy of Atlanta; a daughter, Jamey Murphy-Wood, wife of James Wood of Harrisburg; a brother, Joseph Murphy Jr., husband of Judy Murphy of Harrisburg; two sisters, Kate Bohan, wife of Bill Bohan of Scranton, Patricia Murphy of Harrisburg; a sister-in-law, Enie Murphy of Harrisburg, as well as several nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by a brother, John Murphy. A Celebration of Life Memorial Mass will be held in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Avenue, Hershey, PA 17033 on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 12:00pm, Father Alfred Sceski celebrant. There will be a visitation at the church on Monday from 11:00am to 12:00pm. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, 3908 Corey Road, Harrisburg, PA 17109 or Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
