Joan A. Nye, 85,of Columbia Cottage and formerly of Hershey, passed away on January 22, 2023. She born January 17, 1938 in Hershey,a daughter of the late Luigi and Agnes (Martorelli) Pichini. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl "Mick" Nye; son, Kevin M. Nye and sister, Gilda Werth.
Joan is survived by her daughters, Christine Nye of Fredricksburg and Carla (Brian) Henise of Wrightsville; Granddaughters, Leah Henise & Krysta Nye; brother, George Pichini of Campbelltown. Joan was a 1955 graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School and retired from the former Sears in Harrisburg. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and the Areba Club. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 11:00 am in her church at 359 West Areba Avenue, Hershey. Visitation will begin at 10:30am at the church. Interment will be in the Hershey Cemetery following the mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society PO Box 862, Pittsburgh, PA 15106
