John Mihalik, 88, of Hershey, passed away on October 31, 2023 in the Hershey Medical Center. He was born April 27, 1935 in Wilkes Barre, a son of the late Michael and Mary (Yeager) Mihalik. John earned his Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Villanova in 1957, his MBA from Drexel University in 1968 and a Professional Engineers Certificate in 1981. He was employed at FMC Corporation until 1976 when he relocated to take a position at Hershey Foods until his retirement in 1999. Growing up he enjoyed playing all sports. He received an offer by the Philadelphia Athletics in 1954 to play Minor League baseball. John also enjoyed music and played a number of instruments. He was involved in various musical groups in school, town and then singing in the choir at St. Joan of Arc Church. He was involved in numerous community activities including Meals on Wheels, hospital volunteer and Catholic Charities. John is survived by his wife of 59 years, Loretta France Mihalik; son, Joseph (Christina) Mihalik of Hershey, daughter, Theresa (Elio) Gould of Collegeville; grandchildren, Andrew and Lily Gould; twin brother, James Mihalik of Maryland. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 1:00 pm in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Hershey. Visitation will be from Noon until 1:00pm at the church on Wednesday. Private interment will be in the Hershey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Heart of the Parish Fund, c/o St. Joan of Arc Church. 305 West Areba Avenue, Hershey, PA 17033.
