Orfeo "Ike" Corsetti died on February 22, 2014. He was 93. He was born and raised in Hershey, the son of the late Orlando and Gemma (Pellegrini) Corsetti. He was predeceased by his dear wives, Catherine (Nardi) Corsetti and Mary (Shirk) Corsetti.
In high school he was an active golfer and hockey player along with his brother, Endo. Ike served in the 1st Infantry Division in World War II from 1941-45 during which time he participated in three Landings: North Africa, Sicily and Normandy, as well as eight campaigns including Northern France, Rhineland and the Ardennes. He was instrumental in raising funds for the World War II Monument dedicated in 2004 on the National Mall in Washington, DC. He made three trips to the Normandy Beach Commemorative celebrations, the last one in 2004. For years he had a dry cleaning/tailoring shop in Hershey. He was a member of St Joan of Arc Church and the VFW. Mr. Corsetti is survived by his daughter Susan (Frederick) London of Naples, FL and grandchildren Kathleen (Benjamin) Haldeman of San Francisco, William (Ada) London of Los Angeles and Thomas London of New York. The family would like to express its appreciation to Traditions of Hershey and to Legacy Hospice for their love and support. Friends and family will be received on Saturday, March 1, from 9:30 - 10:30 am in the Hoover Funeral Home in Hershey, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Joan of Arc Church in Hershey. Interment will follow in the Hershey Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675 or Traditions of Hershey - Activities Fund, 100 North Larkspur Dr., Palmyra, PA 17078.
