Rita Marie (Ortenzi) Brightbill (1940 - 2015)

Rita Marie (Ortenzi) Brightbill of Hershey, died peacefully at Penn State Hershey Medical Center on Thursday, April 16, 2015, at the age of 74.

Rita was born on July 7, 1940 to Pietro and Santa (Rozzi) Ortenzi. She graduated from Lebanon Catholic High School in 1959. In 1965, she married Daniel Brightbill, who preceded her in death in 1993. Rita was employed by H.B. Reese Company for over 40 years.

Rita is survived by her siblings: Angelo (Kathy) Ortenzi, Stroudsburg; Anna Cramer, Hershey; John Ortenzi, Hershey, and Rosemarie Witt, Shamokin; sisters-in-law Shirley Ortenzi, Hershey; and Dolores Ortenzi, Summerfield, FL; her companion, James Zimmerman, Campbelltown; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Rita loved cats and birds. She was gregarious and enjoyed bingo, going to karaoke and spending time with friends.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 8:00 to 9:30 AM at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 349 West Areba Avenue; Hershey. Burial will follow at Grantville Cemetery.
