At home and with family by his side, Robert W. Coyle passed into eternal rest on November 27, 2018 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his son, Robert F. (Robbie) Coyle; parents William and Frances Coyle; sister Margaret Coyle; and brother John Coyle.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Grace Coyle; children: William (Kristen) Coyle of Hummelstown, PA, Michelle (Thomas) Miller, and Jennifer Coyle. Robert is also survived by his loving grandchildren: Mary and Matthew Coyle, Sophie and Jonathan Miller, and Elizabeth and Quinn Coyle; brother James (Debra) Coyle; sister-in-law Joanne Coyle; special cousin Richard McCaffrey; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and special family Jeffrey and Sandra Coghlan and family. "Bob" was well known for his lifelong and exuberant passion for the Cleveland Browns. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a true patriot in many ways. After 37 years as a customer service agent, he retired from USAir. He loved the many years of traveling with his family and friends and always enjoyed a stop at a casino. Bob made memories everywhere he went and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Although a piece of our heart went with him, so too, will a part of his be forever with us in the countless ways we remember his sincere love, loyalty and wonderful sense of humor. Our deepest and most sincere thank you to the Lourdes at Home staff, especially Nicole Caram and Shannon Barnett, and to Lourdes Hospice for their loving and compassionate care. The family will receive friends at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, 137 Robinson Street, Binghamton, NY on Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 4-6pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 10am at St. Paul's Church, 282 Chenango St., Binghamton, NY. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Robert's name to The Mercy House, 212 N McKinley Ave, Endicott, NY 13760.
