Robert A. Ring, 83 of Hershey, PA, Chaumont, NY and Cape Canaveral FL, passed away at his Florida home peacefully on November 25, 2014.
Robert was born the son of the late Ambrose A. and Laura I. (Menikheim) Ring in Syracuse, NY. Bob served the Marine Corps in Korea and retired from CONTEL in Hershey after 36 years. He was a 25 year active member of Kiwanis; Hershey VFW; and an officer of the Jaycees in Syracuse. He was also a member of the parishes Blessed Sacrament, St. Joan of Arc, St Vincent and Our Savior. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, golfing, hunting, fishing and boating on Lake Ontario. Bob was a devoted father and husband. He is survived by his wife of 60 years , Marilyn; son , Thomas (Janet) Ring of Harrisburg, daughters, Deborah (Wayne) Ebersole of Elizabethtown and Kathleen (Stephen) Morris of Avondale; three grandchildren, Jacy Ring; Mathew and Stephanie Ebersole. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Norbert A. and Leonard H. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 W. Areba Ave., Hershey, at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30am in the Hoover Funeral Home, Route 422 & Lucy Avenue.
