Ruby Stinson (1940 - 2016)

Ruby R. Stinson, 75 of Lakeland, FL, and formerly of Hershey, PA, passed away on August 22, 2016 at the Hershey Medical Center, surrounded by her family. Born September 16, 1940 in Urbana, OH, she was the daughter of the late Riley and Betty (Barger) Roush.

Surviving are husband, William S. Stinson, Jr. of Lakeland, FL; a son, two daughters, their spouses, and three grandchildren: William III, Elizabeth (Mello), Audrey, Drew, and Miriam Stinson of Hershey; Christine (Stinson) and Simon Hanstad of Pittsburgh, and Mary Stinson of Lakeland, FL. She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters and spouses: James and Loretta Roush of Indianapolis, IN; Tom and Sue Roush of St.Paris, OH; Susie (Roush) Delewese of Powell, OH; Kimberly (Roush) and James Steiner of Springfield, OH.

She was a graduate of Graham High School and The Ohio State University. She taught English and mathematics, in the Canal Winchester, OH; Upper Arlington, OH; and Nyack, NY school districts. She tutored in the Cherry Hill, NJ and Derry Township school districts, volunteered as a museum docent at the Hershey Museum and Polk County Art Museum, and was past president of the Hershey Area League of Women Voters.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 4:30pm in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Hershey. Visitation will be from 3:30pm until time of service.
