Sylvia M. Pennesi, 93, of Hershey, passed away on November 29, 2014. Born on August 23, 1921 in Hershey, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Annina (Bucciotti) Capitani. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Pennesi, Sr., her brother, Frank A. Capitani and sister, Laura (Capitani) Martino.
Sylvia was a 1939 graduate of Hershey High School and was a member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church. A kind, gentle soul, Sylvia was a homemaker and was employed by the Department of Agriculture before starting her family. She enjoyed listening to music and liked to dance with her husband Bill. She was her happiest when she was surrounded by her family. Sylvia is survived by a daughter, Lorraine M. Pennesi of Hershey; a son, William J. (wife, Ginny) Pennesi, Jr. of Jupiter, FL; grandchildren, Kaitlyn & Taylor Pennesi; and two sisters, Lily J. Capitani and Sister M. Salvatoris, D.M.(Capitani), both of Hershey. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014, from 9 - 10 AM in the Hoover Funeral Home of Hershey. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, at 10:30 am in St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. Interment will follow in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer's Association , 3544 N Progress Ave, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
